Job Description/Position Overview:

 

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.

 

Export Control:

The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Position Summary: 

Observes validation of product non-conformances and disposition type, quality procedures and engineering requirements.  Learns Quality Management System requirements, applicable company procedures, contract requirements, or government regulations.  Gathers data and participates in the investigation to determine root cause of nonconformance of plans, products or processes.

Gain knowledge of aerospace design, systems and integration to perform failure and forensic analysis of aerospace components and systems.   Learns the development, modification and documentation of actions to assure problem resolution or to implement corrective/preventive action.

 

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Maintain QA internal and external systems such as QA helpdesk, IQMS, etc. working with customer quality engineers and internal stakeholders to ensure systems are up to date and actions closed in a timely manner. Identify and communicate opportunities for process improvement and assist with RCCA activities.  Assist in internal, customer, and third-party audits. Disposition and control of non-conforming product. Review and approval of First Articles from suppliers. Perform First Articles for submission to customers. Program and operate advanced inspection and test equipment, i.e., vision and instant measurement equipment, CMM, XREF, etc. Work in conjunction with the Customer Quality Engineer and Quality Management with the implementation of new inspection, measuring and test equipment and customer demanded part verification requirements. Ownership of site Calibration system; including maintenance of database, certificates, Calibration Procedures, and confirmation of rendered services for invoicing/payment.

 

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience)

2-4 years of related work experience (4-6 years preferred) Experience working with customer quality systems Experience managing customer requirements Experience maneuvering customer portals Proficient with Net Inspect An equivalent combination of formal education, on-the-job training, and/or work experience Previous aerospace inspection experience Experience in QA inspection methods and procedures, including First Article Inspection Fluent in English (i.e. reading, writing, and verbal communication) Strong analytical, organizational and troubleshooting skills Required to pass documented color and near vision exam Knowledge of AS9100 requirements Experience in the usage of calipers, ring/pin gages, comparator Advanced GD&T Skills – Optical Comparator, CMM, Layout, Vision Scope Systems Proficient PC skills and use of Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Excel) Understanding of Six Sigma / Lean concepts

 

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

Education: bachelor’s degree – related field of study 1-3 years of supervisory experience (preferred)
