Primary Focus
The First Mate reports directly to the captain and is trained to take command in absence of the captain. The position will be trained and qualified to assume overall responsibility for the safety of the RSC-2, equipment, and embarked personnel. Position performs all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the Mission, Vision, and Core Values of Cayuse.

While on watch or in the absence of the captain is ultimately responsible for the safety of the crew, the material condition of the vessel, and will immediately report any change in Mission Capability of the RSC-2 to the PMRF Okinawa Representative so appropriate action can be taken and to evaluate if Mission Support will be affectedOther duties as assigned QualificationsMinimum Job Skills and Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
US Coast Guard (USCG) 500-Ton near Coastal First Mate licenseMust be able to pass a background check. May require additional background checks as required by projects and/or clients at any time during employment
