Primary Focus

 

The First Mate reports directly to the captain and is trained to take command in absence of the captain. The position will be trained and qualified to assume overall responsibility for the safety of the RSC-2, equipment, and embarked personnel. Position performs all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the Mission, Vision, and Core Values of Cayuse.

Minimum Job Skills and Qualifications

 

Minimum Qualifications:

US Coast Guard (USCG) 500-Ton near Coastal First Mate licenseMust be able to pass a background check. May require additional background checks as required by projects and/or clients at any time during employment

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate in a professional, and articulate manner to individuals from diverse backgroundsExcellent verbal and written communicationExcellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with high-level attention to detailProven ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast past environment with changing priorities; adaptable to change and a quick learnerMust be self-motivated and able to work well independently as well as on a multi-functional teamAbility to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriatelyMust be computer literate with proficiency and working knowledge of common database and reporting tools
