It is responsible for assisting with the management of the financial records for the Center for both state, gift funds, and grant funds. This will include set up and maintenance of Excel spreadsheets and monitoring and reporting budget findings to the Center Executive Director. This position is also responsible for reconciling Center budgets and resolving any discrepancies found and assisting with other financial support as needed. This position handles purchases via the purchase card or the eVA purchase order system. It assists with maintaining and tracking affiliation agreements, contracts, and MOUs for the College, and assists with Chrome River submissions. Completes hiring paperwork for part-time and student employees. Type of Recruitment Knowledge, skills and abilities Working knowledge of accounting and/or budgeting principles and procedures. Working knowledge of effective customer service and problem resolution techniques. Working knowledge of information systems such as Banner and computer software programs to generate reports, manipulate data, etc. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite. Strong oral and written communication skills. Strong data entry skills. Ability to pay close attention to detail. Demonstrated ability to monitor and reconcile budgets. Demonstrated ability to work well independently as well as with others in a diverse, collaborative team environment. Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret financial information. Demonstrated ability to independently plan work and adapt to changing priorities . Special licenses, registration or certification None Education or training N/A Level and type of experience Basic experience providing fiscal support. Considerable experience with Microsoft Office products. Additional Considerations (supplemental knowledge, skills, abilities, education, experience, licensure, certification) Significant progressively responsible experience handling financial transactions. Some experience with Banner, eVA, Insight. Some experience working in higher education. Conditions of Employment This is not a telework position. Working hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00am – 5:00pm.
