Fitness and Wellness Coordinator
Job Description: Brown University Athletics is seeking candidates for Fitness and Wellness Coordinator. This position will be responsible for the daily administration, staffing, and programming of the Nelson Fitness Center and support the Fitness and Wellness Manager in special events, and programming in the Nelson Fitness Center and on the Brown University Campus. This role will assist the Fitness and Wellness Manager with development, implementation, promotion, safe operation, and evaluation of recreation/fitness services for students, faculty, staff, and recreation members, as well as special events hosted at the Nelson Fitness Center. Job duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: + Coordinate program operations and development for group fitness, personal training, and fitness partnerships across Brown undergraduate and faculty/staff groups and departments. + Assist with Financial Management of the Nelson Fitness Center Loft & Fitness Programs. + Assist the Fitness and Wellness Manager in designing and implementing a marketing schedule and outreach plan highlighting group fitness, personal training and recreation special events through social media, targeted outreach campaigns and campus partnerships; + Cultivate relationships across Brown University community to expand the reach and popularity of recreation and wellness programming and events. Entry into the candidate pool requires the following: Qualifications + Knowledge of business operations, financial operations, scheduling & facility operations, and risk management preferred. + Current certification from NSCA, NASM, ACE, or ACSM preferred. + Demonstrated expertise in current fitness and wellness programming trends including fitness testing, leading group fitness and/or personal training. + Experience with marketing and social media promotional campaign management. Website content management experience, helpful. + Experience working with individuals from diverse backgrounds and knowledge or experience with the complexities of diversity strategies in University Athletics & Recreation. + Demonstrated ability to support a community of diverse perspectives and cultures in an inclusive environment. Education + Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in Sports Management, Kinesiology, Recreation, Administration, or a related field. Experience + 1-2 years of related experience with progressive responsibility in fitness & collegiate recreation. All division employees are required to demonstrate exemplary ethical conduct and conformance to NCAA rules and regulations; the duties of the position are to be performed in compliance with all NCAA and Ivy League rules and regulations; and any rules violations on behalf of themselves or any knowledge of violations within the division are to be reported to the appropriate parties. Employees in coaching positions are required to pass the NCAA Coaches Certification Test, maintain current AED/CPR & First Aid certification (certification is available at no cost through the Division), and attend all required divisional and/or NCAA training/education programs.
