Posting Details Position Information Job Title Fitness Attendant for Fall 2024/Spring 2025 Department Recreational Sports Office Job Description/Duties This position requires the candidate to clean and organize fitness equipment and actively supervise all fitness areas within the Student Life Center to ensure a safe and secure environment for patrons. Potential candidates must possess excellent customer service skills, knowledge and experience of cardio and weight training equipment and be willing to visually and verbally help patrons learn how to use equipment. This position requires a strong level of confidence working in a fitness setting and the ability to enforce facility rules, policies and procedures. Walking around continuously throughout each shift is required to ensure a high level of safety.
The screening and selection process will take place in August/September 2024 until a successful candidate is chosen. Should review of your qualifications result in a decision to pursue your candidacy, you will be contacted. Days/Hours Needed 2-3 hour shifts between 6:00 a.m.-midnight, Monday through Sunday. Campus Location/Bldg. Student Life Center Required Qualifications Must be a current SUNY Cortland student Preferred Qualifications Certification in Adult CPR/AED and First Aid Upbeat and enthusiastic personality Excellent customer service skills Ability to actively monitor all activity taking place in a busy environment Able to respond to incidents/accidents as they occur Willingness to enforce all rules, policies and procedures Physical Demands Willingness and physical ability to pick up dumbbells, weight plates and other fitness accessories weighing up to 45+ lbs.
