**Job Title: Fitter** **Job Description** A Fitter specializes in fitting tubular structures and reading blueprints. Currently seeking skilled fitters to fabricate, fit, and assemble the structural components of various mechanical systems. To be successful as a fitter, you should be detail-oriented, focused, and adept at interpreting blueprints. Ability to safely use hand and power tools as well as demonstrate excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. **Responsibilities** + Fit, join, fabricate, and repair metal and other weldable materials by applying appropriate techniques in accordance with product specifications and production schedules. + Lay out and assemble subunits or units of materials which are then welded into position by welders. + Ensure the product is fitted to the specifications of each job and the outlined requirements consistent with production of quality UT passable welds. + Specialize in fitting transmission power poles, Substation A-Frames, High mast poles, Highway sign poles, and other tubular structures. + Read and comprehend complex blueprints, drawings, and chalk lines. + Adjust fitting based on the twist and camber of the pole. + Work on A1 Frames and 12-sided poles. + Set up equipment, organize, and layout workstation appropriately. + Use welding equipment such as torches, torch tips, and Air Arc. + Use temperature sticks and welding fillet gauges. **Essential Skills** + 1 to 2 years of fitter experience + Overhead and crane experience + Ability to read and comprehend complex blueprints + Good with geometry (angles, degrees, pivot points) + Experience with flux core welding **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + High School Diploma or GED + Knowledge of a variety of welder concepts, practices, and procedures + Firm knowledge of welding symbols, welding diagrams, blueprints/shop drawings, and other printed instructional material + Ability to work in extreme temperatures + Ability to work additional hours, as needed **Why Work Here?** Enjoy a stable work environment with no layoffs.
