About the Role:
We are looking for experienced and skilled Fitters to join our team in Johannesburg and Cape Town. The ideal candidates will have a strong background in the aluminium and glass industry and will play a vital role in installing, maintaining, and repairing mechanical systems and equipment. This role requires someone with a keen eye for detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.

Key Responsibilities: Install, assemble, and align mechanical components, particularly in the aluminium and glass field. Conduct routine maintenance and inspections of machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance. Troubleshoot and repair mechanical faults, minimizing downtime. Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and job specifications relevant to aluminium and glass production and installation. Operate hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments. Collaborate with installation teams, engineers, and other technicians to complete projects efficiently. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards at all times. Maintain detailed records of work performed, parts used, and issues encountered. Assist in developing preventive maintenance plans for aluminium and glass equipment.

Requirements:

Trade Test Certificate as a Fitter (or equivalent). Technical certification/diploma in mechanical systems (advantageous). 3-5 years of experience in the aluminium and glass industry. Familiarity with machinery and tools specific to aluminium and glass production and installation. Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical systems. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics. Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities. Attention to detail and a focus on precision. Team-oriented with excellent communication skills. Reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious. Able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Valid driver’s license. Physically fit and capable of working in challenging conditions. Willing to work overtime, weekends, and shifts when needed.
