**Job Title: Fitter**
**Job Description**
As a Fitter, you will be responsible for assembling and fitting miscellaneous steel components according to technical drawings and blueprints, ensuring that they meet design specifications and quality standards.
**Responsibilities**
+ Verify conformance of work pieces to specifications, using squares, rulers, and measuring tapes.
+ Weld steel members.
+ Move steel members into positions, manually or with hoists or cranes.
+ Position, align, fit, and tack weld parts to form complete units or subunits, following blueprints and layout specifications, using jigs, welding torches, and hand tools.
+ Determine appropriate method and sequence of tasks in order to fabricate items in the most efficient way possible.
+ Coach and train lower-level fitters to help them advance in their skill sets.
+ Assist foremen and managers to maintain consistent workflow and production on the shop floor to ensure timely completion of projects.
+ Ensure all peers are following all safety policies.
+ Conduct thorough quality checks to identify and rectify defects, ensuring that the finished product meets quality standards.

+ 2+ years experience as a fitter or fitter helper

**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of NA, Texas.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $27.00
