**Fitter and Fabricator** **Paying 27 / HR - 35 / HR** **Location - Tigard, OR** A large Steel Fabricator company that handles projects bridges, commercial, hospitals, stadiums, and industrial buildings projected stable work throughout 2025. **Responsibilities:** + Perform layout and fitting of structural steel components and bridge girders w/speed and accuracy without supervision. + Interpret and understand complex blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications related to structural steel and bridge projects. + Must identify steel shapes, layout and fit beams, columns, show weld size, piece marks, direction marks, etc. + Utilize various tools and equipment such as welding machines, grinders, cutting torches, overhead cranes and measuring instruments to accomplish fitting tasks. + Conduct quality checks on completed work to ensure accuracy, alignment, and adherence to project requirements. **Qualifications:** + 2+ years of structural welding. + Fitting experience. + Blueprint reading. **Environment/ Shift:** + 180,000 sq. ft. single steel fabrication facility is one of the largest in the Pacific Northwest. + Day Shift: Mon-Thurs 4x10s 6:00am - 4:30pm **Employee Value Proposition:** + After converting to a direct employee, contractors are expected to join the Local 516 Ironworkers Union. + Ironworkers Local 516 conducts aggressive campaigns to organize those who need a voice in the workplace so they will have higher wages, pensions, family health plans and greater respect for their profession and skills.
