**Job Title: Fitter/Fabricator** **Job Description** We are currently looking for skilled Fitters to join our growing team in Richmond. As a Fitter/Fabricator, you will be responsible for laying out, positioning, aligning, and fitting together fabricated parts according to blueprint and layout specifications. You will receive training to operate overhead cranes and use cutting and heating torches. Additionally, you will perform complex heat corrections, check camber and sweep tolerances of beams and steel shapes, and make necessary corrections while adhering to pertinent codes and specifications. This role includes setting up complex jigs or assemblies, identifying and correcting potential hazards, interpreting complex documents, and performing daily cleaning and maintenance of your work area. **Responsibilities** + Lay out, position, align, and fit together fabricated parts according to blueprint and layout specifications. + Operate overhead cranes and use cutting and heating torches properly. + Perform complex heat corrections and check camber and sweep tolerances of beams and steel shapes. + Make necessary corrections while adhering to pertinent codes and specifications. + Set up complex jigs or assemblies and identify and correct potential hazards. + Interpret complex documents and perform daily cleaning and maintenance of your work area. **Essential Skills** + 1-2 years of experience working in a structural fabrication role. + Ability to read blueprints. + Proficiency in welding with dual shield, MIG, and Fluxcore. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Experience with structural, Flux Core, and MIG welding. + Knowledge of steel fabrication and fitting. + Ability to use torches and perform fabrication tasks. **Work Environment** The role is based in a 200,000 sq. foot steel fabrication shop operating on the 1st shift: Monday-Friday from 6am to 4:30pm with potential for Saturday work. The environment is loud and heavy industrial, prioritizing safety. The facility is not climate-controlled, which means it will be cold in the winter and extremely hot in the summer. Overhead cranes are available throughout the structure, and each employee will have their own welding station. Steel toe boots, safety glasses, and personal welding gloves are required. **Location** This position is based out of Richmond, Virginia. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $32.00/hr.
