**Job Title: Fitter / Welder**
**Job Description**
We are seeking skilled Fitters who can work off a set of drawings or blueprints and understand what they are going to build. We manufacture heavy industrial steel frames and tanks for various industries and customers worldwide. The ideal candidate will have a strong welding background and experience fitting together heavy weldments. This position requires exceptional blueprint reading skills and the ability to work precisely from client-specific readings.
**Responsibilities**
+ Adhere to safety policies and procedures.
+ Use and care for all equipment required in the performance of fit-up activities.
+ Pursue learning and improvement of personal skills.
+ Take a set of drawings, determine necessary space, tools, and personnel to fabricate the weldment detailed on the drawing(s).
+ Develop and execute a plan of action with efficiency and accuracy.
+ Effectively delegate work when appropriate while maintaining an organized team.
+ Consistently meet safety, quality, and workmanship standards as well as target hours and schedule.
+ Proficiently use fit-up tools, fixturing, methods, and equipment.
+ Adapt efficiently between plate work and structural, mechanical, and industrial tasks while working solely from supplied drawings.
+ Use both GMAW and FCAW processes for tack-welding.
+ Perform other tasks as assigned by the Shop Supervisor.
**Essential Skills**
+ Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings.
+ Experience in fitting together heavy weldments.
+ Leadership skills for effective delegation and team organization.
+ Proficient use of fit-up tools and equipment.
+ Strong welding ability with GMAW and FCAW processes.
+ Willingness to perform various tasks as assigned.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Ability to identify parts and conceptualize from a drawing.
+ Strong math skills to understand tanks, diameters, and figure attachment and cut points.
+ Experience with ASTM-A36 and ASTM-A572 materials.
+ Knowledge of fitting steel components ¼” thick and up, including stainless steel of various grades and thicknesses.

**Work Environment**
The work environment is loud and hot, typical of a manufacturing setting. The shift is from 6:30am to 3pm, with current operations running Monday through Thursday (6:30am to 5pm), and Fridays (6:30am to 3pm). Saturdays may be required, with a half-day starting at 6:30am.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Plant City, Florida.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $24.00/hr.
