Fixed Department Manager

Join National Dentex - a leading healthcare organization specializing in the dental industry. We offer a full spectrum of specialized products, services, and technologies to address any dental restoration need. Currently, we have 50+ labs throughout the country. Our team is growing, and we are hiring a number of key positions within our organization including this opportunity at NDX Connecticut Dental Lab in Rocky Hill, CT for a Fixed Department Manager. 

The regular hours for this position are from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, and subject to change from time to time.

Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions of the Position:

Act as liaison and intercessor between Department Managers and General Manager. Communicate with Sales/Marketing about ideas for upcoming promotional events. Insure we have adequate equipment and staff to support sales. Communicate with Doctor Relations Team and Supervisors to ensure our customers’ needs are being met. Education and training for Managers. Assist in training new technicians on all phases of products. Assists with product pricing and task values. Perform evaluations of managers and technicians at their appropriate intervals. Budget yearly payroll increases for non-production team members Complete appropriate forms documenting absences due to illness, vacation, tardiness, etc. Perform any necessary disciplinary actions and terminations in accordance with company policies. Monitor production flow to prevent unnecessary overtime. Plan improvements in techniques and work flow. All other duties as assigned. 

Skills and Abilities Required: 

Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English Must have computer skills including typing and familiarity with Microsoft Office products. Verbally communicate with all levels of staff, leadership and customers maintaining a positive demeanor and nurturing teamwork. Must be familiar with Performance Management processes, Project Management, Coaching, Quality Management, and Developing Standards. Must be a results driven individual. Understands the importance of, and has the ability to, foster teamwork Takes initiative. Has excellent listening skills. Attention to detail.

Minimum Education and Experience Required: 

Required: College degree or equivalent work experience. Required: 5+ years manufacturing experience. Required 5+ years of management experience. Minimum 2 years dental technician experience, exhibiting competency in area of expertise in order to guide and train others. Demonstrated leadership skills, obtained through experience or recognized through observation.
