Fixed Equipment Engineer

Airswift has been tasked by one of our major clients to search for Fixed Equipment Engineer to work on a long-term contract in Lake Charles, LA.
The successful candidate must stay abreast of assigned operating units’ plans, needs, and activities, while providing leadership and training to the areas’ maintenance staff. They will be expected to generate work scopes detailing the equipment’s fabrication or repair requirements with consideration for safety, environment, budget, inspection and schedule. In addition, they must be able to review and approve drawings and engineering calculations.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
May include, but are not limited to, the following:
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required, and minimum 5 years of experience in a petrochemical plant environment is required. Others with varying levels of experience in the maintenance and repair of fixed equipment may also be considered. Applicant must demonstrate familiarity with codes & standards applicable to Fixed Equipment mechanical integrity, including but not limited to ASME Section VIII, ASME B31.3, API 650, API 620, ASME 16.5, PCC-2, etc. (any related certifications considered a plus) Experience with mechanical design/analysis software considered a plus (e.g. INSPECT/Compress, Caesar II, etc. Understanding of risk-based work selection principles (RBI methodology, etc.) considered a plus. Successful candidates must satisfy background screening, including motor vehicle record screening, drug testing & pre-employment physical requirements before starting work. A current, valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card is required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT Some of the work may be required in the operating units which can require usage of required PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, etc. May also result in exposure to outside elements and may require usage of stairs and elevators. Travel including air travel or auto travel may occasionally be required.
