Fixed Equipment Mechanical Integrity Engineer
Fixed Equipment Mechanical Integrity Engineer for Luling, LA to maintain & improve mechanical integrity of fixed assets & equipment at agricultural chemical manufacturing plant; lead investigations of process safety-related equipment failures; define & implement fixed asset maintenance and risk-based inspection strategies; design corrosion testing programs; perform engineering & fitness for service evaluations and audits; train junior engineers & technicians. Requires Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering or closely-related field & 5 yrs experience in mechanical and/or manufacturing engineering position(s): performing mechanical integrity audits of manufacturing equipment to assess fitness for service applying API 579 standards; designing corrosion testing programs for manufacturing equipment in accordance with American Petroleum Institute (API) inspection & repair standards, including processes to monitor corrosion, predict equipment life & recommend inspection intervals; developing & maintaining fixed equipment inspection procedures for chemical manufacturing plants in accordance with regulatory health and safety guidelines; managing risk & condition based fixed equipment inspection programs using computer maintenance management systems; managing structural steel integrity programs at chemical manufacturing plants; managing fixed equipment projects, including developing scope of work, technical specifications & calculations; researching & implementing best practices and introducing new materials of construction to improve mechanical integrity at chemical manufacturing plants; applying ASME Fabrication & Post Construction Code repair standards to inspection procedures. Up to 5% U.S. travel req’d. Telecommuting permitted from home office location within reasonable commuting distance of Luling, LA up to 2 days per week.
