The role is an opportunity to join the European Bond Index Team in London. The desk manages a full suite of Fixed Income products, with strong performance and tight tracking at the core of our business. The successful candidate will be expected to operate to a high standard in a collaborative environment, exhibiting market insights and a strong risk mindset. This role will sit within our Rates and SSA (Sovereign, Supranational and Agencies) pod, so we are looking for experience within this sector – however we encourage crew to continuously broaden their acumen and strive toward continuous personal development.
Core Responsibilities
Negotiates and executes trades for fixed income managed portfolios. Measures the impact of derivative trades on the relevant portfolios. Manages relationships with security dealers. Acts as a backup in investment decision-making function when the portfolio manager is off the desk. Invests cash flows across markets and act as portfolio manager with a lower level of discretion. Works closely with the analysts and PMs on generating actionable investment ideas for the funds. Performs market and risk analysis for senior staff to identify critical data for decision-making. Tracks sector spreads and identifies sector relationships. Interprets risk of new events across a broad sector class. Develops, evaluates, and acquires models for analysing investment strategies and cost analysis for executions. Generates complex performance attribution reports, identifies and resolves issues to produce accurate analyses. Responds to fixed income desk inquiries pertaining to bond trading information and bond pricing. Performs vital analysis and relays relevant information to the appropriate portfolio manager for action. Acts as a liaison with outside bond vendors, develops and maintains strategic relationship with security dealers. Identifies, recommends, and develops process and operational improvements. Develops strategies to contribute through efficient execution and quantitative research. Helps develop operational knowledge of less tenured traders. Conducts analysis on data and develops trading and portfolio strategies with oversight. Independently generates ideas and research. Strives to achieve the best execution on trades Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.Qualifications:
Eight years related work experience, including five years investment management experience. Five years Fixed Income experience preferred.Undergraduate degree in finance or economics or equivalent combination of training and experience required.
