Position Description

 

This position will organize, lead, and supervise the performance of a variety of skilled and semi-skilled technicians in the diagnosis, repair and maintenance of GO Riteway vehicles. They will also conduct more complex diagnostic and repair work with little supervision. Additionally, they will ensure adherence to relevant legislation, regulations, requirements, policies and safe working practices and procedures to facilitate the smooth operation and function of an effective repair and preventative maintenance program at an assigned location. This position will provide training, advice, guidance and leadership to technicians.

 

Job Responsibilities

 

Plans, assigns and leads the day-to-day work for an assigned location. Performs a variety of repairs including technical, diagnostic, and maintenance work, while ensuring the appropriate assignment of duties based upon skill and certification levels of technicians.Provides ongoing training to assigned employees in proper maintenance and repair methods, practices, procedures and techniques as well as appropriate use of tools and equipment.Review completed work orders of assigned staff and as appropriate, inspect work and/or test-drive vehicles to ensure repairs and maintenance are of the highest quality and resolve the problem.Ensure use of proper work methods and techniques to confirm compliance with all company policies and all applicable Federal, State and local regulations and requirements.Ensures the maintenance of a clean, safe, effective and efficient work environment including identifying and making recommendations to resolve unsafe maintenance conditions or practices.Reviews, assesses and analyzes work processes and practices to identify and recommend opportunities for improvements.Coordinates maintenance activities with other operations staff.Orders replacement parts and supplies and ensures proper inventory management.

 

Qualifications
 

High school graduation or the equivalent combination of education, training and experienceThorough knowledge of and the ability to interpret and apply legislation, regulations and standards applicable to the assigned location (i.e. Federal, State, local)Must be 21 years old or olderKnowledge of current technology used in the repair and diagnosis of vehicles, equipment and their component systems.Knowledge of safe work practices, including handling of hazardous materialsKnowledge of supervisory training techniques and methods with demonstrated experience successfully supervising and training Technicians.Significant automotive or truck technical repair and preventative maintenance experienceLeadership skills to create and maintain a motivated, positive work environmentValid driver’s license for 3+ years with good recordASE Certification Strongly Preferred and WelcomedMust own basic hand toolsTechnicians must successfully pass a company sponsored pre-employment drug test and background check.
