PURPOSE/SCOPE: 

Under the general direction of the Director of Field Operations, this role is responsible for planning, coordinating, supervising and evaluating the operational, maintenance and acquisition of Tennant North America’s Service & Sales fleet vehicles and related equipment.

 

GENERAL RESPONISIBILITIES: 

Responsible for Tennant’s North America Fleet Operations department Manage administration, operation and maintenance of Tennant Service and Sales vehicles Develop and execute annual fleet vehicle replacement schedule, including acquisition and disposal of company fleet vehicles Collaborate and manage relationship with Tennant’s third-party fleet management partner and other service providers Align with Sales & Service stakeholders on Business Unit and Fleet annual goals and strategic roadmaps Support and drive Tennant’s sustainability goals through Fleet Management Oversee DOT matters related to fleet Collaborate with Tennant EHS on safety policies, opportunities and enabling consistent best practices & behaviors for fleet users Collaborate with finance partners and sales & service P&L owners on budget management Analyze key business drivers to recommend, design and develop methods for cost reduction and improved fleet efficiency Build effective work relationship with fleet vehicle users and customers

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:

7+ years of experience in a similar or related role in Fleet Bachelor's degree in a related field required Thorough knowledge of administrative procedures, including budgeting, planning, personnel management, inventory control and records management Detailed knowledge and understanding of the scope and types of repairs, inspection, and maintenance performed at the terminal/garage level Experience developing strategies to support goals and objectives critical to the business unit Working knowledge of environmental safety, chemicals, and waste Previous contract management experience

Ability to work collaboratively and maintain effective working relationship with cross-functional departments, employees and managers at all levels of the internal organization, as well as vendors Excellent organizational skills and detail oriented Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to work with sensitive information while maintaining strict confidentiality Computer operations and word processing, spreadsheet, and database software skills
