Summary

CHS, Inc. is hiring for a Fleet Manager in Sioux Falls, SD. The Fleet Manager will oversee our fleet of full-time propane drivers across our trade territory.  Our territory includes southwest Minnesota, southeast South Dakota, and northeast Nebraska.
The Fleet Manager will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following: hiring, overseeing training, dispatching, maintaining vehicle records, inspections, compliance with federal and state regulations, and troubleshooting customer needs and concerns.

Responsibilities Coordinate day-to-day logistics activities within department.Serve as a hands-on supervisor, overseeing all daily driver operations and providing general work direction as needed to provide efficient, safe, and reliable service to patrons.Prepare and schedule work hours. Oversee, own, and execute on the data received from our energy platform through Energy Force, Optimizer, and Otodata.Ensure ongoing maintenance of the vehicle fleet at the location by coordinating the preventative maintenance of vehicles, repairs, and licensing.Maintain fuel, distribution, and service-related inventory quality compliance and control including monthly inventories as directed by the Regional Energy Manager.Monitor and analyze costs, managing expenditures and planning for growth.Work closely with Regional Supply Specialists in all aspects of supply planning and contract execution.Collaborate with operations management in researching, establishing, and maintaining routing and dispatch execution, route optimization, cost containment, and minimization of out-of-route and empty miles.Act as the communication liaison between client, internal sales/marketing, and customers to meet product sales/delivery execution goals efficiently and economically.Monitor the performance of product sales and perform the physical movements from respective plant location to product destinations.Manage and schedule truck shipments of materials/products through collaboration with energy manager, purchasing, and transportation companies to ensure timely deliveries to our customers.Enforce safety rules and administer all company and government regulations.Supervise team member training for job duties, safety, equipment requirements, and quality control to ensure proper functions of assigned duties.Provide input into budget and asset needs, oversee operations within approved operating budget.  Seek to improve personal skills and prepare to perform all support and fill-in duties when requested.Maintain and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures, and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.Perform all other work duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications (required) High School diploma or GED2+ years of experience in Operations and/or Business OperationsAdditional Qualifications 2+ years’ experience supervising others.Proficient in MS Office Suite.Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong working relationships.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.Experience working with logistics tools.Bachelor’s degree preferred in business, economics, manufacturing, logistics, operations management, supply chain management, statistics, or related field.Ability to motivate and lead team members.Ability to work extended hours as needed to meet business needs.Pre-employment screening is based on the job requirements and industry guidelines and may or may not be required for the position. Actual pay offered will vary based on multiple factors which may include, without limitation, experience, education, training, specialized skills and certifications.
