Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Fleet Manager to join our Reno, NV team! The Fleet Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the organization's fleet, ensuring efficiency, safety, and compliance with regulatory requirements. This role involves managing the lifecycle of all company-owned equipment, developing performance standards, and coordinating with construction teams to meet operational needs. The Fleet Manager plays a key role in driving cost-effective solutions, maintaining detailed records, and fostering a strong safety culture.

What You'll Do

Key Responsibilities:

Fleet Operations and Maintenance:

Oversee daily fleet operations, ensuring alignment with company objectives.Manage the lifecycle of all company-owned equipment, including acquisition, deployment, maintenance, and disposal.Schedule and track regular vehicle and equipment maintenance, inspections, and testing.Develop and maintain efficient shop performance standards, including Standard Repair Times (SRTs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).Monitor and manage the repair, service, and maintenance of company-owned and leased vehicles.

Procurement and Resource Management:

Collaborate with division fleet managers to address equipment repairs and deployment.Recommend vehicles for replacement, oversee asset disposal or auction, and maintain a comprehensive company asset schedule.Obtain multiple quotes for tools and equipment to identify cost-effective procurement options.Communicate with project managers to assess current and future fleet needs.

Safety and Compliance:

Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including FMCSA, OSHA, and other local, state, and federal guidelines.Support the deployment of safety initiatives, such as Verizon and LYTX programs.Assist in motor vehicle accident investigations as needed.

Leadership and Coordination:

Supervise shop and field mechanics, ensuring alignment with company standards and objectives.Participate in WIP, staff meetings, foreman meetings, and crew visits.Facilitate the build of specialty equipment and tools in coordination with relevant teams.Act as a trusted contributor to the senior management team.

Budgeting and Performance Tracking:

Assist in creating and managing the annual fleet budget.Track and report on fleet Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), including costs, utilization, and safety metrics.Recommend and implement corrective actions to improve efficiency and cost savings. What You'll Bring

Qualifications:

Education:

High school diploma or GED required.Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in logistics, transportation, or a related field preferred.

Experience:

Minimum of 5 years of fleet management experience, preferably in the construction industry.Strong background in equipment procurement, maintenance, and lifecycle management.

Skills and Certifications:

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word.Familiarity with fleet management software is a plus.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.Excellent organizational and communication abilities.

Other Requirements:

Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.Knowledge of federal and state safety regulations related to fleet operations. What You'll Get
