**SUMMARY**
Welsbach Electric Corp. of L.I. is seeking a Fleet Mechanic to assist with the repair and maintenance of diesel and gasoline powered heavy construction equipment and vehicles. This is a stable job with comprehensive benefits and opportunities for additional training. Our shop needs a self-motivated, organized individual with a strong work ethic and the ability to handle all vehicles in a fast-paced environment.
You will work alongside an experienced ASE Certified Master Automotive and Heavy-Duty Technician on over 150 pieces of equipment. Our fleet includes but is not limited to: auger, bucket, and box trucks, vans, pickups, forklifts, trailers, trenchers, and leaf blowers.
**Compensation Range:** $25.00 - $29.00 per hour
**Other Compensation:** This position is bonus eligible
**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
+ Perform maintenance on construction fleet including both gasoline and diesel vehicles.
+ Diagnose and repair all mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
+ Conduct NYS safety and emission inspections.
+ Diagnose and repair vehicles and equipment.
+ Transport vehicles, parts, and supplies to job sites as needed.
+ Respond to road calls and emergencies as required.
+ Document drivers’ complaints and report vehicle needs to Fleet Manager.
+ Process accurate, legible, and detailed work orders.
+ Clean, organize, and maintain the shop and inventory as needed.
+ Comply with all Company operating policies, procedures, OSHA, and safety programs.
+ Maintain certifications and licenses.
+ Report to work full-time, Monday through Friday, 7:00 am – 3:30 pm.
**QUALIFICATIONS**

**POSTION REQUIREMENTS**
+ Minimum 2 years of direct automotive repair experience preferred.
+ Must be at least 18 years or older.
+ High School Diploma or GED.
+ DOT medical certification, or ability to acquire within 60 days.
+ CDL and NYS Heavy Duty Inspection Licenses, or ability to acquire within 60 days.
+ A/C License and Forklift License, or ability to acquire within 60 days.
+ Knowledge of hydraulic systems, welding, and metal fabrication a plus.
+ Must enjoy mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic challenges.
+ Must have own transportation and clean driving record.
+ Must have own tools and possess workshop cleanliness and organizational skills.
+ Have an excellent attitude towards safety and firm adherence to safety protocols.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to travel to remote field locations on Long Island.
**WORK ENVIRONMENT**
