**Fleet Mechanic**
**Paying $19-$21 p/hr**
**Job Description**
We are seeking a dedicated Truck Technician to join our team. This role involves the installation and preparation of various electronics such as telematics, camera systems, ELDs, geo-fencing, lane departure systems, and more. This classification is where most shop new hires will begin employment, providing an excellent opportunity to grow and develop mechanical skills in a supportive environment.
**Responsibilities**
+ Perform drilling and bolt-on type modifications
+ Route and clip necessary wiring or lines
+ Conduct light fabrication of affiliated bracketry to complete routing and clipping
+ Utilize hand and power tools effectively
+ Perform mechanical assembly tasks
+ Handle installation and repair of truck components
+ Climb in and out of truck cabs as needed
+ Follow specific direction and supervision on most tasks
**Essential Skills**
+ Basic mechanical skills
+ Proficiency with hand tools
+ Experience in mechanical assembly, automotive service, or related fields
+ Mechanical aptitude and inclination
+ Ability to work under supervision
+ Experience in drilling, fabrication, and installation tasks
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Must have a mechanical aptitude
+ Possess a set of basic tools
+ Familiarity with the following tools: socket sets, wrenches, Allen wrenches, Torque sockets, hammer, punch, pry bar, pliers, wire cutters, test light, screwdrivers, steel toe safety shoes, impact gun, tape measure, tri-square, air drill, and vise grips

**Work Environment**
The work environment is clean and organized, although it is not heated or cooled. The doors open up to allow trucks to roll onto the line, which can result in varying temperatures. Employees are expected to adhere to safety protocols, including wearing steel toe safety shoes.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Statesville, North Carolina.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.00/hr.
