Drive Profit and Efficiency as a Fleet Planner

Are you a skilled logistics professional ready to take on a dynamic and impactful role? As a Fleet Planner, you will be at the heart of our transportation operations, driving profit optimization by expertly coordinating freight and capacity within a designated geographic area. You will play a key role in ensuring load volumes align with network commitments, maximizing efficiency for both drivers and customers.

What You’ll Do:

Optimize Freight and Capacity: Plan and schedule inbound trucks and outbound freight within a 24-72 hour timeframe, balancing the needs of drivers and customers while prioritizing equipment productivity.

Trailer Asset Management: Maximize customer trailer pools and minimize inactive assets to improve operational efficiency.

Proactive Freight Management: Review customer freight commitments daily, securing additional capacity as needed and making informed decisions about accepting or declining additional freight requests based on capacity, cost, and revenue.

Collaborate for Success: Work closely with the Customer Service and Sales teams to align freight volumes with network commitments. Collaborate with Area Managers to develop innovative customer solutions.

Cross-Training Opportunities: Engage in cross-training with Customer Service Representatives to step in and meet customer demands as needed.

Ensure Accuracy: Enter data accurately into systems, ensure billing information is correct, and maintain detailed records.

Weekend Support: Participate in a weekend coverage rotation to ensure smooth operations during weekends.

What You’ll Need:

Experience: Previous experience in logistics, fleet planning, or transportation coordination. A background in load optimization or capacity planning is a plus.

Strong Analytical Skills: Ability to evaluate capacity, cost, and revenue data to make informed decisions quickly.

Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate effectively with internal teams, drivers, and customers.

Problem-Solving Ability: Proactive and creative thinker who can manage competing priorities and troubleshoot challenges efficiently.

Attention to Detail: Commitment to accuracy in data entry, scheduling, and billing processes.

Tech-Savvy: Proficiency in transportation management software (TMS), load optimization tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
