Overview We are seeking a full-time Fleet Services Management Specialist in our Olathe, KS location. In this role, you will be responsible for managing Company Fleet Vehicle Programs meeting Department of Transportation standards in accordance with all Federal and State regulations for Garmin Fleet. Essential Functions Responsible for organization wide fleet service activities and functions, including vehicle & equipment maintenance, client services, contract compliance, data analysis, and training of Garmin drivers Implements/manages inspection requirements/records, maintenance and repair program of vehicles/equipment in compliance with Department of Transportation (D.O.T.) and Garmin procedures/policies Supervises the preventive maintenance program for standard care of vehicles and equipment Establishes and administers an organization wide fleet and equipment lifecycle to include replacement programs and reviews status of vehicles and equipment, recommends equipment replacement and major repair options Evaluates vehicle damages/accident trends and works closely with the Risk Management team to develop insurance needs Acts as primary Government liaison for DOT regulatory inquiries and accident reporting Develops yearly Motor Vehicle Reports and supervisor recurrent training Analyzes trends, anticipates problems, and creates performance reports for Fleet Services programs Exercises independent judgment to ensure compliance with regulatory and program requirements Plans, schedules, and prioritizes Fleet Maintenance activities and projects to assure accomplishment of goals and objectives Develops/executes system wide fleet service program to maintain driver/vehicle folders, administer training, complete and distribute vehicle/watercraft registrations, ensure vehicle safety equipment is provided/up to date as required, confirm vehicle markings are provided/up to date, verify, complete and regulate annual inspections maintenance records, accident register, driver log books and audits, electronic logs, pre/post inspections, MCS 150 Registration, MCS 90 Registration, UCR Registrations, DOT audits, violations and corrective actions, new registration interpretations, and oversee driver road tests Promotes and enforces safe work practices Demonstrates and applies knowledge expertise in D.O.T. Regulations, applicable State and Federal statutes, including drug and alcohol testing guidelines Available to handle after-hour calls in cases of emergency situations Partners with human resources on management of medical cards, annual driver records, driver corrective actions and drug/alcohol screening including preemployment, renewals and random screening Coordinates with purchasing for all vehicle related purchases Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Safety, or related field AND a minimum of 5 years relevant experience OR an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience Must possess demonstrated knowledge of driver regulations and management of fleet processes Must possess demonstrated project management experience relevant to Garmin’s business needs for performing the essential functions of this role Must possess demonstrated knowledge of DOT and state and federal regulations Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills to work effectively across functional and organizational lines Must possess proficiency using Microsoft programs including Word and Excel Must be detail-oriented and can work proactively/effectively with minimal supervision while exercising sound judgment and demonstrating a high level of professionalism Ability to prioritize, organize and multi-task in a flexible, fast paced and challenging environment to effectively meet deadlines Desired Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Safety or a related field Safety related professional certification Department of Transportation and/or Hazardous Material certification Garmin International is an equal opportunity employer.
