ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Fleet Specialist reports directly to the Fleet Supervisor. This role supports the organization with managing and overseeing all aspects of Hunt Electric’s vehicle fleet. This includes all vehicles, buggies, trailers, etc. This role will work closely with Operations Leadership, drivers, vendors and other internal stakeholders to ensure a safe, cost-effective and sustainable fleet operation. This role also analyzes the total cost of ownership of company owned assets and revenue gained to maximize our return on investment.
+ Keep comprehensive and organized records of documents such as sales receipts, titles, tab renewals, repairs, and maintenance within the company’s ERP system (Spectrum).
+ Facilitates the maintenance and repair of company vehicles and equipment. Proactively seek preventative maintenance opportunities to mitigate unnecessary more costly repairs.
+ Maintain an up-to-date and precise record of vehicle assignments to drivers and jobs to ensure accurate tracking and billing processes within the company’s ERP system.
+ Coordinates the renewal of vehicle registrations with the DMV and updates records in the company’s ERP system to reflect any changes.
+ Ensure that new vehicles and equipment are equipped with the appropriate company decals per division. Accessorize and fit out vehicles to company standards to ensure operational effectiveness.
+ Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations regarding fleet operations. Partner with Safety department to ensure that organizational safety standards are met.
+ Administers, monitors and manages the usage of company gas cards (WEX cards) for compliance.
+ Evaluate the fleet to identify aging vehicles for replacement and determine the most appropriate course of action.
+ Assist Fleet Supervisor, VP of Purchasing, and the Finance Department with the asset disposal process. This can include the sale or scrapping of vehicles when they are classified as “end of life.”
+ Assist with the development and implementation of metrics and data to identify cost savings opportunities and enhancements in operational efficiency.
+ Collaborate with external vendors and Accounting to ensure costs are categorized correctly to general ledgers and assets for budget purposes. Ensure payment and billing processes are timely.
+ Additional tasks and support as assigned by manager
$75,000-$100,000 + discretionary bonus + employee ownership + benefits
Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
+ High School Diploma or equivalent.
+ 3 years of experience in fleet, purchasing, inventory management, vendor relations, or related field.
+ Associates degree in related field preferred.
+ Vehicle and equipment maintenance knowledge preferred.
+ Excellent organization, time management and communication skills.
+ Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
+ Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
+ Ability to learn internal accounting and fleet management software.
+ Available for occasional after-hours fleet emergency calls.
+ Ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Report
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
+ This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop, tablet, phones, filing cabinets and printer/copier.
+ This position may be exposed to weather conditions.
+ Employees are frequently required to sit, and occasionally required to kneel, reach, stoop, crouch or crawl.
+ This position requires the ability to lift files, open file cabinets, and bend or stand as necessary.
+ This position may occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
