Fleet Technician 1

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
The position includes, but is not limited to, the following essential job duties, responsibilities, and requirements:
• Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspections, and fluid checks.
• Assist with diagnosing and repairing mechanical issues under the supervision of senior technicians.
• Conduct vehicle inspections to identify potential problems and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
• Diagnoses standard mechanical and electronic problems, utilizing diagnostic tools when applicable.
• Identifies root cause of basic failures/conditions and performs repairs as required.
• Replaces defective components as instructed.
• Performs facility maintenance duties.
• Interacts with operators/drivers to properly determine the nature of complaints once assigned a task.
• Utilizes key functions of the Shop Management System and electronic documentation available.
• Works per all federal/provincial and corporate compliance guidelines (i.e., safety, DOT, etc.)
• Performs other support duties as required to support operations. These could include but are not limited to road service support.


EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Post-secondary vocational education is strongly preferred.
• Must have minimum tool requirement.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Valid CDL (license A) is highly desired.
• Must be able to obtain CDL within 6 months after hire.
