Summary THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a FLIGHT ENGINEER (INSTRUCTOR), Position Description Number PDD0606000 and is part of the WY Army Aviation Support Facility, Wyoming Army National Guard. This is a Title 32 Dual Status Technician Excepted Service position. Military affiliation is required. Responsibilities The purpose of the position is to instruct and perform flight crew work supporting heavy multi engine aircraft, and to provide assistance to the pilot in the overall operation of the aircraft. Primary aircraft is the UH-60A Black Hawk transport helicopter. The aircraft's missions include combat service support airlift for movement of heavy supplies, vehicles, aircraft and equipment, troop air assaults, extractions and resupply of troops, and aeromedical evacuations, search and rescue, ice break, mine sweep, and air support of national disasters and state contingencies. (1) Serves as instructor/flight examiner providing instruction, evaluation and examination on ground and operational training flights to develop and upgrade skills of aircrew members. (2) May perform duties of Flight Engineer which includes utilizing a knowledge of major aircraft systems associated with heavy multiengine aircraft. (3) Ensures prescribed programs of instruction for aircrew training is adequately covered in terms of course content, coverage, and scope of material presented. (4) Operates and monitors aircraft control devices and indicators. (5) Administers evaluation and determines examinees proficiency to perform duties as a crew member. ** This is NOT an all-inclusive list of duties. ** Requirements Conditions of Employment KEY REQUIREMENTS: Must submit Soldier Talent Profile or ERB with application. Must meet minimum/specialized experience req. for position and grade level. Must possess or be able to obtain/maintain a T3/SECRET security clearance. May be required to successfully complete a trial period. Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation. Recruitment/Relocation Incentive MAY BE authorized, if eligible. Subject to funding and TAG approval. PCS is not authorized in lieu of incentives. Must possess and maintain paramedic qualifications. EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS: Technicians are paid through Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer (DD/EFT). Military Technicians are ineligible for military enlistment, retention, and student loan repayment bonuses. Acceptance of a Technician position over 180 days will result in suspension or termination of these military incentives. DESCRIPTION OF WORK: Flight engineers assist the pilot in operating various aircraft systems, e.g., hydraulic, fuel, electrical or pressurization to assure safe operation of aircraft. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Must possess experience which has provided the applicant with a knowledge of aircraft weight and balance computations; aircraft performance data; aircraft records maintenance; and aircraft systems. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must possess a valid certificate proving a successful graduation of Flight Engineers Instructor Course - N1 ASI (Additional Skill Identifier coded "N1") OR attain Flight Instructor designation within one year of appointment date to position. NOTE: Minimum Requirements and Specialized Experience will be used to determine qualifications for the announced position.
