The Pax Structures discipline supports flight science flight testing at Patuxent River Naval Air Station on the F-35B and F-35C aircraft. This includes providing real time control room monitoring support of safety-of-test and analysis critical parameters on the F-35B and F-35C flight test aircraft, conducting pre-flight predictions and post flight data requests, supporting flight test anomaly resolution, and correlation of measured flight test data with modeled predictions. Structures disciplines include Airframe Loads, Landing Gear Loads, Pylon Loads, Dynamics Store Response, Air Vehicle Flutter, Air Vehicle Buffet, and Vibroacoustics.

The Pax F-35 Structures Team Lead will provide technical development and oversight of an integrated contractor and government discipline engineer team. The Structures Team Lead is expected to maintain currency for real-time control room monitoring and support as needed. The Structures Team Lead will assist with development and ensure adherence to processes, plans, and procedures necessary to provide timely, accurate, and focused engineering support. The applicant will maintain technical cognizance over their team while building effective relationships and ensuring appropriate coordination with equivalent LM and USG (JPO & NAVAIR) personnel.

The Structures Team Lead will be frequently required to attend briefings with the customer and represent LM.

Occasional business travel is expected. Overtime, non-standard shifts, and weekend work will be required.

Basic Qualifications:
Experience as real-time discipline monitor for aircraft Structures flight test. Flight test experience shall include formal test planning and reporting. Structures experience shall include External Loads, Flutter, or Buffet.

BS in Aerospace, Aeronautical, or Mechanical Engineering
Desired Skills:
Experience with F-35 Structures analysis methods and
F-35 Structures flight test experience

Good written and verbal skills are required.

MATLAB, VBA, or Python proficiency
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Maryland, Washington or Washington DC is $100,400 - $192,500. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

This position is incentive plan eligible.
