Job Description:

Airbus US Manufacturing Facility is looking for a Tool Shop Attendant  to join our Procurement team based in Mobile, AL

The Tool Shop Attendant  is responsible for maintaining the tool crib which stores the tools and small jigs used by production.  The attendant monitors  the use of the equipment and ensures that the tools are kept in good repair. The attendant is responsible for two key tool crib functions: inventory and inspection of tools for wear and tear.

Nearby on ‘Airbus Way’ you will find the Airbus U.S. Manufacturing Facility for commercial aircraft. Opened at the Mobile Aeroplex at Brookley in 2015, the facility produces A320 Family aircraft and added a second product line for the A220 in 2019. The facility, which strengthens the U.S. aerospace industry, is part of Airbus’ strategy to enhance its global competitiveness by meeting the growing needs of its customers in the United States and beyond.

Your challenges:

Tool Shop Functions: 

Receive, store, and issue tools used for production (including chemicals), and maintain records of equipment movement Visually inspection of tools and equipment for defects and wear and coordinate maintenance Mark and identify tools and equipment

Support calibration activity under QA guidance

Operational Procurement Functions: 

Coordinate with local suppliers to validate material order receipt, availability, alternate
and due date
Create SAP master data and purchase request

Coordinate with Strategic procurement for material consumption, batch order Quantity
and order cycle

Perform Good receipt and inventory adjust

Participate to Audit preparation and Audit process
Shop Floor Control Functions:

Perform Aircraft Clip tools clean up using various methods such as Media Blast
Perform daily consumable carts kitting activity and station delivery

Participate in daily Production meeting

Your boarding pass:

Experience in logistics or tool management in a manufacturing environment inventory management experience. Or relevant experience as it relates to the position 

        General knowledge of hand, power tools, cutting tool related to aviation industry

        Knowledge of shop safety (clean as you go/FOD) and OSHA regulations

        Use of Data collection program (such as SAP and Excel)

        High School Diploma or GED 

Physical Requirements: 

● Vision: Adequate to enter and read material on computer screens or controls on machines, lathes, etc. Able to identify individuals to initiate greetings, giving of directions, and other business interactions

● Hearing: Able to hear sufficiently to engage in conversation in office Able to hear safety alerts and warning signals

● Speaking: Able to engage in conversations in person and via electronic means and deliver information to groups of varying sizes with or without amplification

● Equipment Operation: Able to operate a personal computer, telephone, copier, fax machine, and related office equipment and using electronic identification card to enter building floors and internal doors

● Carrying: Able to occasionally carry up to 20lbs/9kg while engaging in training, addressing production issues, or as part of continuous improvement projects

● Lifting: Able to occasionally lift up to 50lbs/23kg. 

● Pushing/Pulling: Able to push/pull items in office areas and on the shop floor

● Sitting: Able to sit for extended periods of time at the computer and in meetings

● Squatting/Kneeling: Able to occasionally squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items shelved on bottom shelves

● Standing: Able to stand for extended periods of time while delivering information

● Travel/Mobility: Able to travel overseas and domestically sometimes for extended periods of time and on short notice

● Walking: Able to walk through office and production areas, around flight line and airstrips, and sometimes on uneven indoor or outdoor surfaces other business interactions

This position is a temporary (contract) position with no specific time period but could be extended or shortened as needed. Contractors are employed by a 3rd party vendor and placed on assignment to Airbus in America.
