Perform design and analysis of hydraulic and hydrologic systems. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS GRADE 15 Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Civil and Environmental Engineering with one (1) year of experience in Water Resources Engineering, hydraulic and hydrologic modeling. License(s): Professional Engineer licensed in the State of Utah, Certified Floodplain Manger (CFM) or ability to obtain within one (1) year of hire. Possession of a valid Utah driver's license at time of hire. GRADE 16 Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Civil and Environmental Engineering with one (1) year of experience in Water Resources Engineering, hydraulic and hydrologic modeling. License(s): Professional Engineer licensed in the State of Utah, Certified Floodplain Manger (CFM) or ability to obtain within one (1) year of hire. Possession of a valid Utah driver’s license at time of hire. Grade 17 Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Civil and Environmental Engineering plus three (3) years of related work experience as a professional engineer with progressive additional responsibility throughout the three years and which at least one (1) year is experience in Water Resources Engineering, hydraulic and hydrologic modeling. License(s): Professional Engineer licensed in the State of Utah, Certified Floodplain Manger (CFM) or ability to obtain within one (1) year of hire. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS + Under the direction of a Professional Engineer, prepare engineering plans, typically using computer aided design software on Flood Control Ordinance Facilities, Natural Waterways, and Canal Systems. + Prepares flood studies on County Ordinance Facilities. + Acts as Construction Manager for projects on Flood Control Ordinance Facilities including natural waterways and canal systems. + Works within and understand the requirements of the FEMA Flood Insurance program. + Assists in the preparation of storm water master plans, feasibility and evaluation reports, right-of-way acquisition maps and legal descriptions. + Tracks and manages engineering, construction, and transportation programs such as flood control permits, impact fees, traffic calming, roadcut & encroachment permits, and safe sidewalk programs. + Prepares, files and obtains necessary permits for construction projects. + Represent project engineer or manager as assigned. + Answers inquiries, complaints, and correspondences from public, including interpretation of County ordinances.
