Floor Specialist -Part Time (NARA I)

By combining our expert professional technicians, commercial best practices, extensive facilities knowledge and strong commitment to reliable, responsive service, we enable our government clients to achieve consistently high-performance facilities, on-time projects and long-term value. **Job Title:** **Floor Technician - Part Time (NARA I)** **Job Summary:** EMCOR Government Services is seeking a **part-time Floor Specialist** at our **National Archives and Records Administration (NARA)** project Sunday – Thursday 6:00pm – 10:00pm in Washington, DC (NARA I). This is a SEIU, Local 32BJ-represented position. **Essential Duties and Responsibilities:** + Sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and buffing the floor surfaces of commercial buildings. + Perform floor maintenance activities + Performing cleaning tasks and special projects + Cleaning, maintaining, and storing equipment and PPE proficiently. + Keeping an inventory of floor areas, and scheduling cleaning and maintenance duties. + Measuring chemicals correctly + Follow all health and safety regulations + Follow proper cleaning procedures and safety guidelines + Notify supervisor of any maintenance or repair needs + Perform repetitive tasks and lift heavy objects including moving furniture before and after cleaning, if required **Qualifications:** + Previous experience in facilities maintenance or commercial cleaning preferred + Proven working experience as a janitor or floor technician (5 yr experience) + Follow all health and safety regulations + Familiarity with SDS + Ability to handle equipment and machinery + Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies + Must be able to work independently + Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents in English. + Must be able to obtain Public Trust clearance + Must be able to work a schedule of Sunday – Thursday 6:00pm – 10:00pm **Physical Demands:** + Physical Stamina to perform repetitive tasks and lift heavy objects + While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly walk for extended periods; required to sit; use hands to finger, handle; or feel; reach with hands and arms; talks or hear and test or smell.
