Job Description:

Manage all aspects of the fluids services area including: safety, quality, managing personnel, ink/solvent inventory.  Position is also responsible for hazardous waste and environment reporting. 

WHAT YOU GET TO DO

Acts as a safety leader and puts safety first in all responsibilities. Works in conjunction with the EHS Manager to establish and maintain all policies and programs to assure a safe working environment.Provides direction to personnel working in the facility fluids area.  This includes workflow and input through the performance management process.Performs and participates in all elements of supervision of the Fluid Service’s department, including purchasing, inventory control, color management, and hazardous waste control.Leads department continuous improvement initiatives and participates in and leads improvement teams as appropriate.Develops cost savings initiatives / plans as related to materials, methods, and equipment.Evaluates and oversees all area training needs.Works to develop proactive relationships with key vendors in order to develop technological improvements as they relate to advancements of our business.Partners as needed with Supply Chain on fluids purchasing.Works with the site EHS Manager to determine the acceptability of chemical and hazardous components coming into the plant through the pre-audit of Safety Data Sheets and NMAP.Assists the EHS Manager in the up-keep of the electronic SDS database.Promotes and or participates in high performance work teams throughout the organization in accordance with cost take-out initiatives and promotes department participation.Provides direction and procedures to company personnel in regulatory interpretation through the corporate regulatory group.Works to develop pro-active relationships with key vendors in order to develop technological improvements as they relate to advancements of our business.Assists the Supply Chain with fluid purchasing.Facilitate and enforces all of the company policies and procedures as they are outlined and defined.Oversees departmental budget and variances to budget.

WHAT WE WANT FROM YOU

Bachelor’s Degree with an emphasis printing, graphics, engineering or a related field preferred.A minimum of 3 years prior supervisory/leadership experience.Minimum 5 years experience in the flexible packaging or printing industries.Lean six sigma training.  Green Belt certification or willingness to obtain such certification upon acceptance of role.Competent knowledge of personal computers and software such as Microsoft, Novaflow, Color Management Systems such as X-Rite, SAP knowledge or experience preferred.Technical knowledge of the various inks, adhesives, cohesives, and coatings used at the plant.Understanding of government codes and physical characteristics of raw materials and how this relates to the environmental compliance for the operation requiredComputer literacy, specifically with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SAP, ERP and Outlook).
