About the role:
As a Sales Manager FM at Barry Callebaut South East Europe, you will play a pivotal role in promoting our products and strengthening relationships with food manufacturers in the confectionery, biscuit, and ice cream industries. Based in Belgrade, this role requires frequent travel within Serbia and the surrounding region to deliver on sales objectives and identify new business opportunities.
You will work closely with internal stakeholders to align business strategies, support customer needs, and contribute to Barry Callebaut’s market positioning in the region.
Key responsibilities:
Customer Engagement: Pursue sales leads, visit new and existing customers, and assess their needs to suggest appropriate products and services. Sales Growth: Drive new business activities for volume and margin growth through effective portfolio penetration. Strategic Planning: Develop long-term sales plans and adapt activities to achieve commercial objectives. Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams (Sales, R&D, QA, Marketing, and Procurement) to deliver business objectives and manage customer projects effectively. Market Intelligence: Represent Barry Callebaut at trade events, gather market insights, and ensure our value proposition aligns with customer expectations. Operational Excellence: Utilize tools like Salesforce.com to track customer interactions, maintain accurate forecasts, and manage cash collection processes. Reporting: Prepare detailed customer reports and presentations while ensuring all activities align with regional sales strategies. Leadership Support: Support the Sales Director and team in operational tasks and customer project management.About you:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, or Food Science. At least 5 years of experience in the food or related industry, preferably in sales roles. Knowledge of the chocolate or confectionery industry is a plus. Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with SAP and Salesforce.com is an advantage. Strong business acumen and quantitative skills. Exceptional negotiation and collaboration abilities. Strong problem-solving attitude and impactful presentation skills. High emotional intelligence and ability to operate in a dynamic environment. Fluent in English. Valid driver’s license (Category B). Willingness to travel extensively (50%+).
