Position: Festival Franco-Ontarien Ticketing Coordinator and Logistics Assistant
Desired Contract Length: 26 Weeks Start Date: ASAP End Date: Initial term approved to the Province of Ontario’s current fiscal year end, March 31, 2025. Additional weeks is pending the approval of Ottawa Festivals’ fiscal year (2025-2025) JCP program agreement with the Province of Ontario.
Work Schedule: 4 business days / 32 hours per week Work Location: Hybrid Home and Office
Job Summary: This position is funded through Ontario’s Job Creation Partnerships (see more details below). Reporting to and working directly under the supervision of the Box Office Manager, assisting with box office ticket administration and reporting, and various administrative duties.
Responsibilities:
Ticketing Strategy:
• Program ticketing for the Festival Franco-Ontarien on the LePointDeVente.com platform;
• Monitor and implement programming for special projects (festivals, one-time events, if applicable);
• Prepare ticketing reports and reconcile bank deposits and credit card sales;
• Work closely with our ticketing service provider, LePointDeVente.com;
• Analyze sales data to propose strategies to maximize event revenue;
• Collaborate closely with various departments involved in event programming and promotion
Event Mode:
• Act as the main contact for the team regarding ticketing strategy and ticketing needs;
• Be present during the festival to manage ticketing and coordinate the ticketing team;
• Maintain effective communication with departments involved in event execution (Production, Ticketing, Reception and Security, Customer Satisfaction, Finance, Programming);
• Support the team in planning and coordinating activities;
• Additional duties as required
We want to meet you if you have the following qualifications:
• Experience with a ticketing system; familiarity with LePointDeVente.com is an asset;
• Experience in ticketing strategy or the event entertainment industry (an asset);
• Experience in cash handling and customer service (an asset);
• Comfortable interacting with both French and English-speaking audiences (an asset);
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
• Detail-oriented team player with strong organizational and time management skills;
• Adaptability and change management skills;
• Ability to manage priorities under tight deadlines with resourcefulness;
• Availability to work weekdays, evenings, and weekends as needed;
• Proficiency in basic Microsoft Office tools.
Additional Qualifications Required:
Candidate eligibility for JCP is determined according to the following criteria:
An unemployed job seeker or those employed less than 20 hours per week. A permanent resident living in Ontario who is legally authorized to work in Canada. Meet at least 1 of the following criteria: Has an established Employment Insurance (EI) benefit period. Previously established an EI benefit period that has ended within the previous 60 months. Paid employee EI premiums (e.g. Box 18 on the T4) in at least 3 of the last 10 years while earnings have been at least $2000 in each of those years. Received the Employment Insurance Emergency Response benefit (CERB) within the previous 60 months.NOTE: Persons currently enrolled in full-time academic studies are not eligible for consideration. Those who qualify to establish an Employment Insurance (EI) claim must do so prior to being considered for JCP participation.
Remuneration:
$688 (gross) per week paid biweekly by the Province of Ontario (average hourly rate: $21.50 based on 4 days/32 hours).
