Food, Beverage, Dairy Plant Sanitation - Technical Sales Internship

Ecolab is seeking candidates for our Technical Sales Internship program in our Food & Beverage division. Our interns gain valuable hands-on experience in the food & beverage manufacturing industry by learning the various components involved in servicing Ecolab customers. In Food & Beverage, you’ll help a wide variety of food, beverage, and brewery processors manage the increasing risks of foodborne illness and contamination. By providing cleaning and sanitizing programs, animal care products, antimicrobial food tissue treatment and many other operational efficiency and product quality programs, Food & Beverage offers the opportunity to work with a combination of innovation and world-class service.

What You Will Do: 

Work closely with existing Account Managers in customer plant environments, focusing on food safety and food quality using effective, efficient sanitation products and processes. As strong business partners, our Account Managers work with customers to develop sanitation plans and programs, evaluate processes and procedures, and identify and implement operational efficiencies.  

Learn the daily responsibilities of an Ecolab Account Manager and work on specific value-added projects throughout the summer for which you ultimately present findings to our leadership team 

Work alongside successful Account Managers and other field associates to learn customers' operations, understand their cleaning challenges, and devise solutions to meet their needs 

Cultivate business relationships with all levels of plant staff through professional demeanor & interpersonal skills 

Apply mechanical aptitude to repair, adjust, test and install Ecolab chemical dispensing systems as well as food, beverage and dairy processing equipment including clean in place (CIP) equipment and systems 

Monitor product performance and adjust chemical concentration levels to advance operational efficiency and effectiveness 

Provide industry expertise and training to customers regarding plant sanitation, standard operating procedures, and issues of food safety/quality 

Introduce new product/service offerings to existing accounts to help them disinfect surfaces in a plant facility 

Learn how to successfully prospect to generate new business 

Be exposed to potential career path roles within the organization and considered for our full-time entry level Account Manager in Training opportunities upon graduation  

 

Position Details: 

Nationwide locations available in urban, suburban, and rural environments (dependent on specific industry) 

Relocation assistance is available for those meeting requirements 

 

Minimum Qualifications: 

Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in dairy, food or agricultural science, engineering, chemistry, or related major - to be completed Dec 2025 or Summer 2026  

Willingness & ability to work off hours, including nights 

Valid driver's license, acceptable motor vehicle record, and access to a personal vehicle 

Must be authorized to work in the US without any sponsorship now and anytime in the future  

 

 

Annual or Hourly Compensation Range:

$25.00 - $26.00 / hour. This position pays an hourly rate and is eligible for overtime.

Anticipated Job Posting End Date:

3/31/2025

Annual or Hourly Compensation Range is based on full-time 40 hours per week. Ecolab in good faith anticipates it will pay within the posted range. Many factors are taken into consideration when determining the compensation for a potential new employee such as education, training, experience, work location, travel (if required), etc.
