Location Description Lake Arrowhead Resort and Spa is nestled high atop the majestic San Bernardino Mountains at an elevation of 5,174’. This Resort is surrounded by an ocean of Ponderosa Pines and gives guests exclusive access to Lake Arrowhead, a reservoir with a surface area of 780 acres. Lake Arrowhead is the perfect location for outdoor adventure enthusiasts and offers a variety of summertime and wintertime activities including hiking, mountain biking, fishing, kayaking, water skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, ziplining, and more. The resort includes a Bar & Restaurant, Spa & Wellness Center, Outdoor Pool & Lake Beach as well as over 23,000 sq. ft of meeting and events space. Overview Basic Function The Restaurant and Bar Supervisor assists the manager with overseeing all functions of the day-to-day operations of the staff of the food and beverage outlets. This position is responsible for ensuring the highest standards of service, cleanliness, and efficiencies are consistently maintained. Provide day-to-day supervision related to all restaurant and bar operations. Essential Functions In the absence of the manager, will assist guests with issues as they arise; escalate as necessary to ensure guest satisfaction. May assist the manager with staff recruitment, including interviews. Provide department new hire training to restaurant and bar staff. Maintain all lines of communication with staff, managers, directors, HR, and executive committee, as necessary. Report any observed violations by following department chain of command. Assist manager with all restaurant and bar transactions to maintain the cleanliness and enhance the atmosphere of the restaurant, including table visits and side stations work. Provide guests exceptional food quality and service levels by consistently monitoring guest satisfaction and by upholding service standards. Ensure all restaurant common and guest areas are organized, cleaned, replenished, and guest ready. Train, coach, and counsel staff related to company culture, policies and procedures. Schedules and leads daily pre-shift, weekly and monthly staff meetings. Verify staff is adhering to break, meal, and all timekeeping policies. Assist with inventory management on quarterly and annual basis. Handle daily administrative tasks such as floor plans, email, schedule adjustments, and F&B meetings. Must ensure all areas of the restaurant and bar meet health and safety standards and that all staff members follow such. Must track staff certifications to ensure compliance with county and state requirements. Tracks staff training and schedules staff to ensure all training is complete. Assists with hostess stand, seating guests, bussing, and serving. Work with any 3rd party vendors for services, as needed. Marginal Functions Any other task as assigned by management. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. 1 - 2 years of experience in a supervisory role, within the hospitality or restaurant industry. 3 – 5 years of experience as a server, bartender, or combination of both within the restaurant industry. Intermediate – Advanced experience with information technology (computer and software skills). Basic understanding and working knowledge of Micros, Open Table, billing concepts, Outlook, MS Suite, and Canva, as well as arrival/departure flow to include preparation. Ability to assist the manager with difficult guest situations and help de-escalate concerns by matching complaints with appropriate action and solution to provide the guest with outstanding experience and service. Must have a professional and Be the Difference attitude to work collaboratively with other team members. Excellent customer service skills. Must be able to multi-task and back up staff in all restaurant and bar areas. Must be able to work in a high-stress, high volume environment. Must be able to work various shifts, overtime, holidays, and weekends, as necessary. Compensation Range The compensation for this position is $22.54/Hr. - $24.76/Hr. based on qualifications and experience.
