The resort was named the “Jewel of the Desert” since its opening on February 23, 1929. This gorgeous 39-acre property reopened in May 2021 after undergoing a $150 million restoration and has over 700 rooms, over 200,000 square feet in banquet space, and 8 food and beverage outlets (including 2 restaurants, 2 bars, 2 poolside bars, a gelato shop/café, and in-room dining). Hotel Website, Instagram, Facebook Overview Exciting opportunity to join an iconic luxury hotel and gain experience in various food and beverage outlets as a Food and Beverage Supervisor! As a Food and Beverage Supervisor, you would be responsible for assisting in the day-to-day management of the various food and beverage outlets. Specifically, this includes, but is not limited to, the following duties: Plans, supervises, and participates in the performance evaluation process for subordinate staff. Ensures that service quality, expense control, and revenue generation are maintained at targeted levels. Supervises McArthur’s Restaurant and In Room Dining areas for cleanliness, proper set-up, opening and closing procedures, and to ensure that an appropriate level of supplies and materials is maintained. Monitors food quality and presentation. Participates in the updating, and facilitating of training programs for associates in the McArthur’s Restaurant and In Room Dining. Participates in the hiring process for McArthur’s Restaurant and In Room Dining associates. Participates in the development of weekly work schedules for the department. Responsible for proper health & safety procedures within the outlet. Ensure that department has adequate supplies based on current business level forecast. Produces maintenance work orders and purchase orders or requisitions as necessary. Performs related duties as required to manage McArthur’s Restaurant and In Room Dining operations in a proactive manner. Demonstrate commitment to making a conscientious effort to eliminate or reduce the risk of injury to our guests and associates, damage to our property or the property of others. Know the correct action to take in the event of an emergency, and demonstrate this knowledge by acting appropriately in the event of an emergency. This is a full-time position, and you must have availability to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays. Qualifications At least two (2) years previous experience as a server Upscale dining experience Prior leadership experience, preferred Hotel and / or luxury hotel experience, preferred Proficient in Microsoft Office and POS systems Prior experience with Agilysys is a plus Advanced in Microsoft Excel is a plus Food Handler Certification TIPS Certification ServSafe Certification, preferred Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus Great attitude Desire to grow career in hospitality Flexible / adaptable Dependable Ability to lead, insipire and motivate a team with positivity and high energy Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
