A Food and Beverage Captain with Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts is responsible for assisting the Restaurant Manager in managing the restaurant operations to consistently high standards. Effectively control the flow of customers and orders throughout service. Ensuring the restaurant team maximize all sales opportunities. Deal with any customer queries in an appropriate manner.

What will I be doing

As a Food and Beverage Captain, you will play a crucial role in ensuring seamless restaurant operations, exceptional guest service, and team efficiency. Your responsibilities include supervising service staff, maintaining high sanitation and safety standards, monitoring product quality, and assisting in the smooth execution of daily operations. Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

\n\nSupervise and coordinate restaurant staff to ensure outstanding service and guest satisfaction.\nMaintain luxury service standards in alignment with the hotel’s brand expectations.\nInteract with guests to gather feedback, ensure special requests are met, and resolve concerns promptly and professionally.\nOversee the setup of dining and service areas, ensuring a refined and inviting ambiance.\nEnsure full compliance with sanitation, hygiene, and safety regulations for both guests and staff.\nConduct regular facility inspections, taking corrective action to maintain an appealing and well-maintained dining space.\nOversee the proper functioning of restaurant equipment, ensuring timely maintenance and repairs.\nMonitor inventory levels, ensuring adequate supplies of linen, glassware, silverware, condiments, and other essential items.\nEnsure food quality meets guest expectations by verifying presentation, temperature, and taste.\nRegularly move through the restaurant and kitchen areas to monitor food preparation, product consistency, and service efficiency.\nProvide guidance for quality improvements and implement necessary adjustments to enhance the dining experience.\nTrain, supervise, and mentor restaurant staff, ensuring high performance and teamwork.\nConduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to support team development.\nAssign and oversee daily work responsibilities, ensuring staff adhere to operational procedures and service standards.\n

A Food and Beverage Captain serving Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts is always working on behalf of our guests and working with other Team Members. To successfully fill this role, you should maintain the attitude, behaviors, skills, and values that follow:

\n\nMinimum 2-3 years of experience in a high-end or luxury hotel, fine dining restaurant, or an equivalent setting.\nProven track record of supervising a food & beverage service team in a fast-paced environment.\nIn-depth understanding of food and beverage service, wine pairing, and luxury hospitality standards.\nStrong understanding of food and beverage trends, guest preferences, and cultural sensitivity in culinary practices.\nFormal food & beverage training or equivalent certifications.\nExceptional leadership and organizational skills.\nStrong creativity and passion for service innovation.\nAbility to manage stress in a high-pressure environment.\nExcellent communication and interpersonal skills.\nKeen eye for detail and commitment to quality.\nAbility to work a variety of shifts including weekends, days, afternoons and evenings\n\n
