**Job Title: Production Assistant**
**Job Description**
Assist in operating the filling line to complete products for customer orders. Work in a manufacturing environment following appropriate policies and procedures to ensure successful execution of position responsibilities.
**Responsibilities**
+ Assist in operating filling line equipment and packaging equipment.
+ Conduct general inspections of products during operation and pack off finished product.
+ Perform packaging of finished product packages, including making up corrugated boxes and partitions, packing finished product in boxes, sealing cases manually, labeling or stenciling finished cases with proper identification, and placing finished cases on pallets using pre-determined case placements.
+ Make minor machine adjustments as needed.
+ Monitor product cases to ensure proper weight and accurate packaging components, report any issues such as film splices, breakage, and machinery jams to the service machine operator immediately.
+ Prepare work area for production and keep it clean and orderly throughout the work shift.
+ Place damaged product packages into proper containers and discard trash.
+ Start and stop production equipment as assigned during the shift.
+ Maintain daily reports on product, brand, type, and quantity produced.
+ Support the SQF Program and promote food safety by maintaining housekeeping in immediate area and contributing to an audit-ready department.
+ Perform other duties as assigned.
**Essential Skills**
+ Ability to read and write to fill out various production reports.
+ Ability to use judgment to monitor the product.
+ Ability to understand standard instructions and work effectively with others.
+ Manual dexterity, strength, and stamina to stand during an 8-hour shift.
+ Ability to lift 30 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Experience in production, labeling, general labor, packaging, and warehouse packing.

**Work Environment**
The work environment involves a rotating 2-2-3 shift with hours from 5am to 5pm (A-team). Personal protective equipment (PPE) such as steel toes and pants are required. Employees must also be willing and able to wear PPE as required by established company safety standards, including hair nets, beard nets, and safety glasses. No piercings, long nails, or nail polish are allowed due to GMP policies. Physical demands include intermittent sitting, standing, walking, climbing, squatting, kneeling, pushing, and pulling. Physical strength and dexterity sufficient to perform required tasks are necessary, with occasional lifting and moving up to 50 pounds or more with assistance.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania.
