Food Protection Specialist
**Summary** **AJANTA CONSULTING, LLC** Wright Patterson AFB, OH **THIS POSITION IS CONTINGENT UPON BID AWARD** The **Food Protection Specialist** provides support for the Food Vulnerability and Mission Assurance Assessments Support performing professional and technical task with the Air Force Research Laboratory. The Wing delivers unparalleled capability to the Air Force through a combination of world-class infrastructure and expertise of its diverse workforce of military, civilian, and contractor personnel encompassing 75 occupational specialties including science and engineering, occupational health and safety, medical professions, technicians, educators, and business operations and support. **Responsibilities** + Perform Food Vulnerability Assessments (FVAs) or Mission Assurance Assessments (MAAs) at sites worldwide. + Coordinate installation on-site schedules with Joint MAAs (Defense Threat Reduction Agency), with Air Force Vulnerability Assessment Team (AFVAT), or scheduling an FVA for USAFSAM/PHR to conduct by itself. + Assist in the Government’s planning of travel or supply budgets as needed. + Coordinate the schedule with installation Anti-terrorism officers, Medical Group leadership, and Public Health personnel. + Coordinate scheduling with installation-level food facilities or other functions involved in the FVA or MAA process. + Coordinate in-brief or out-brief schedule where applicable. + Arrange travel and travel support such as hotel or car rental, and maintaining budget and records. + Interview relevant parties and make observations relating to food defense at installations. + Train installation-level personnel on food defense. + Apply operational risk management to assess risks, maintaining awareness of mission-critical assets or tasks as part of the FVA or MAA process. + Generate final FVA reports, electronic and paper documentation and perform summary presentations, and update trend trackers with the results of FVAs or MAAs as soon as practical after FVA or MAA completion. Provide information to team lead or NCOIC. + Support USAFSAM/PHR on investigations and data requests in relation to food defense. + Follow USAFSAM/PHR Food Protection Standard Operating Procedures. + Educate USAFSAM students, and others as requested regarding food defense. Train other assessors as needed. + Support to field unit requests for consultation and analysis of specific issues relating to food defense. + Maintain and apply proficiency in classification of documents and management of documents up to the appropriate classifications. + Attend Department of Defense (DOD), or USAF working groups and meetings, pertaining to food defense to provide subject matter expert (SME) consultation. + Support installation-level completion of installation-level local FVAs. + Review completed installation-level local FVAs and provide feedback. + Communicate completed reviews to team lead or NCOIC. + Serve as the initial point of contact for installation support services (e.g. remote instruction by telephone, guidance, benchmarks, processing and evaluations). + Collaborate regularly with other DOD components in reporting issues, suggesting solutions, and support best practices for food protection. + Assist USAFSAM/PHR during collaborative efforts to increase data-sharing capabilities and surveillance partnerships with installation-level customers and other principal stakeholders in the USAFSAM/PHR surveillance systems. + Provide regular information sources and worksheets when requested by installation-level + personnel, USAFSAM/PHR, the MAJCOM, and Air Force Medical Readiness Agency + (AFMRA). + Act as alternate SIPRNet room custodian in PHR. Complete custodian tasks as outlined in the 711 HPW Security Program Operating Instruction 16-01 + Other duties as assigned. **Qualifications** + Minimum five (5) years of experience in food protection and/or security operations. + Possess public speaking experience within the past 2 years, to include giving verbal presentations to laypersons and leadership audiences. + Possess an Active Secret Clearance. **Knowledge, Skills and Abilities** + Ability to travel as needed + Ability to become qualified as a Food Protection Specialist **Physical Demands** _:_ (The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
