The Food Safety & Quality team at BrightFarms is hiring a Food Safety & Quality Manager at our NEW Macon, Georgia greenhouse to lead the implementation of our food safety programs at the farm.
Specifically, you will:
Effectively and efficiently manage production processes to ensure world class food safety standardsPromote a food safety culture at the farmManage and Collect routine EMP samples (water samples, swabs, product samples and media samples)Train and manage the Quality Management System with day-to-day operations of the greenhouseOversee the sites pest control management system and conduct regular reviewsLead SQF site audits, internal audits, regulatory inspections and GMP inspectionsManage sites supplier approval programConduct root cause investigations and implement corrective actions necessary to ensure safe and quality product is producedPerform food safety hazard analysis, update food safety plans, and participate in change management activitiesStandardize best practices and creates forms necessary to collect KPIsMaintain the digital food safety record keeping system, review recordsBe proficient in effectively communicating with employees throughout the organizationWillingness and desire to assist in unrelated and/or unassigned tasks to ensure the effective operation of the GreenhouseReport food safety and quality problems to the GM or directly to Senior ManagementComplete other duties as assignedThe ideal candidate:
Have a 4-year degree in a related disciplineHave 4 - 8 years of related work experience in food safety and quality. Agricultural experience is a plus!Experience with GFSI auditing programs or FSMA regulationsExcellent written and verbal communication and can create documents such as standard operating procedures, training content, and work instructions that comply with applicable food regulationsExhibit excellent critical thinking skills, leadership skills, lead by example – set the highest possible standards for food safety, quality, efficiency, productivity, and behaviorBe detail oriented and data drivenBe proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point. PowerBI is a plus!Have the ability to meet the physical requirements of the job including lifting up to 50 poundsBe a self-starter and a problem solver with strong relationship building and communication skillsAbility to navigate a dynamic and quickly evolving environmentCollaborate and work closely with the operations teamBe a problem solverBilingual English/SpanishCome grow with us - the future is BRIGHT!
