The Food Safety & Quality team at BrightFarms is hiring a Food Safety & Quality Manager at our Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania greenhouse to lead the implementation of our food safety programs at the farm.
Specifically, you will:
Effectively and efficiently manage Production processes to ensure the quality of our product, consistency maintaining SQF requirementsCollect routine EMP samples (water samples, swabs, product samples and media samples)Train and verify effectiveness of relevant food safety & quality programs to operators and leadershipOversee the sites pest control management system and conduct regular reviews of the systemLead site audits and inspections, both external (ex. SQF) and internalSupport the farms in implementation of food safety regulations and policiesPerform site GMP inspections and perform required drills & exercisesStandardize best practices and creates forms necessary to collect KPIsVerify and review completion of food safety recordsManage the farm’s food safety planHave a willingness and desire to assist in unrelated and/or unassigned tasks to ensure the effective operation of the GreenhousePerform risk assessments and advise leadership on appropriate recommendationsLead corrective action efforts in identifying RCA and effectively implementing CAPA’sWork cross functionally to safely implement new processes, programs and equipmentBuild and support a strong food safety cultureComplete other duties as assignedThe ideal candidate:
4-year degree in a related discipline5-8 years of experience in a production environment or related work experienceCan create SOPs, forms, policies and food safety plans to meet relevant regulations such as FDA and GFSIBe detail oriented and data driven (experience with data bases is a plus!)Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPointBe a self-starter and a problem solver with strong relationship building and communication skillsAbility to navigate a dynamic and quickly evolving environmentExhibit excellent critical thinking skills, leadership skills, lead by example – set the highest possible standards for food safety, quality, efficiency, productivity, and behaviorWorking conditions / Environment / Travel / Schedule required
Have the ability to meet the physical requirements of the job including lifting up to 50 pounds, walking/standing for many hours, working in cold conditions (coolers) and warm environments (greenhouse)Come grow with us - the future is BRIGHT!
