You ensure quality in the factory and are responsible for meeting quality targets. You are fully responsible for the people, machinery and the identification and elimination of quality losses and problems in the department. You grow your team’s capabilities and coordinates departmental activities in accordance with corporate standards, local requirements and ISO standards. In this role, you report directly to the plant manager with dotted line responsibility to corporate quality.
**How you will contribute**
You will ensure that all quality objectives, goals and targets in the factory (including regional and global commitments) are met. You will develop and track your department’s budget and eliminate losses. With your team, you will conduct regular plan-do-act-check assessments to plan how targets will be met, executing the plan and periodically checking and taking action to stay on track. In addition, you will ensure that there is strict adherence with all appropriate laws, food safety quality standards and consumer requirements of all manufactured products and manage crisis situations internally and externally in ways that support the company’s image, policies and business. As a people leader, you are responsible for recruitment and structuring of the department to ensure there are sufficient resources to deliver on plant objectives, set and assess performance goals, and coach and mentor team members.

+ Working with external manufacturing suppliers to ensure compliance to our policies and procedures and technical vendors to support compliance
+ Working with customers on quality related issues
**How you will contribute:**
+ Lead the development and implementation of the overall food safety program, setting objectives, establishing key performance indicators (KPIs), and driving continuous improvement.
+ Conduct comprehensive risk assessments to identify and prioritize food safety hazards, and develop strategies to mitigate them, including evaluating the impact of new products, processes, or regulations on the existing program.
+ Serve as a food safety expert, providing guidance and collaborating with cross-functional teams (production, quality, engineering, etc.) to ensure food safety is seamlessly integrated into all aspects of the business.
+ Develop and deliver comprehensive food safety training programs for all levels of employees, including specialized training on emerging trends, new regulations, and advanced risk mitigation strategies.
+ Lead internal audits of the food safety program, ensuring continuous compliance with regulations and standards. Additionally, manage responses to external audits and collaborate with regulatory agencies to ensure a high level of compliance.
+ Develop and manage key food safety metrics, analyze data trends, and provide regular reports to leadership, identifying areas for improvement and demonstrating the impact of the food safety program.
+ Ensure the effectiveness and continuous improvement of the food safety program, proactively identifying gaps, implementing corrective actions, and constantly seeking opportunities for enhancement.
+ Champion food safety excellence throughout the organization, fostering a culture of food safety, inspiring employees, and driving a commitment to achieving the highest standards.
+ Stay abreast of emerging food safety trends and regulations, remaining informed about industry advancements and new regulatory requirements, ensuring the company remains at the forefront of food safety practices.

+ Experience in food safety management, including HACCP, Food Safety Plans, and CCP/OPRP programs.
+ Knowledge of zoning, environmental monitoring, and allergen control within food manufacturing environments.
+ Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to identify risks and implement corrective actions. • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
+ Food safety risk, identification and management, HACCP and prerequisite controls, hygienic design
+ Knowledge of GMP, food allergens, pest control, sanitation, and food safety regulations
+ Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence and educate cross-functional teams.
+ Ability to work independently and with cross-functional teams to ensure food safety standards are met.
+ Ability to work independently and take initiative with minimal direction. • Possess strong verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal skills to act as a liaison.
+ Possess problem solving skills.
+ Ability to prioritize work and meet required deadlines.
+ Ability to work with a team to meet goals
**Education / Certifications:**
+ Bachelor’s degree in quality assurance, Food Science, Biology, Microbiology, Engineering, Operations Management or a related field.
**Job specific requirements:**
+ Minimum 3 years of experience in food safety roles within a manufacturing environment (food manufacturing preferred).
+ Expertise in food safety risk identification, CCP/OPRP validation, HACCP governance, and allergen control.
+ Knowledge of regulatory food safety standards and industry best practices
+ Food Manufacturing experience (required)
This position is on-site at the Chicago Plant: 7300 S Kedzie Avenue, Chicago IL 60629.
_The base salary range for this position is $83,800 - $115,225t_ _he exact salary depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for participation in a highly competitive bonus program with possibility for overachievement based on performance and company results._
