Food Safety/QA Lead 3rd Shift

Ability to step in as relief in the event of technician openings or absences. Report to the supervisor of the area any issues not resolved. **Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities** + Provides work direction and training to QA non-exempt production associates. + Acts as a backup and is trained for both the QA General Labor and HACCP Verifier positions. + Ensures HACCP and SSOP checks are completed as required by the facility's regulatory programs. + Grades product according to written standards. Product is graded visually, although an interpretation of "borderline" calls must be justifiable. Record information obtained on grading records or computer data input devices. + Identify when product graded deviates from normal ranges and communicate this information to supervision, QA, and Operations. Retain product and oversee the disposition of the product to bring it into compliance. + Conduct quality measurements as needed to assess process capability, as directed by QA management. + Must be trained and proficient with the facility's HACCP plan, Good Manufacturing Practices and Sanitation Operation Procedures and implement Corrective Actions if deviations are observed. + Must be familiar with deviations resulting in the stressing of product which could reduce shelf life of affected product. + Must continually evaluate potential for foreign material contamination while in assigned work areas. **Minimum Education** High school or equivalent **Experience Requirements** 2 plus years work experience. Good communication (both oral and written) and math skills. **Experience Preferred** Experience in food quality and/or safety. **Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements** When in a plant environment: + Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces. May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity. + May handle product 30 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit. May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db. May be exposed to dust, feathers and all chemicals used in poultry, food, processing facility. + Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company. + Occasional exposure to carbon dioxide vapors 10ppm and chlorine less than 20 ppm. + Able to stand for several hours.
