EverGrain is an ingredient venture whose purpose is to make products healthier, taste better, and more sustainable. The business was launched by Anheuser-Busch InBev in 2019 and features new technology that repurposes brewer’s grain – barley – to produce plant protein ingredients.
As a Food Safety & Quality Analyst, you will play a crucial role in safeguarding the safety and quality of our product. You will be responsible for conducting various food safety and quality testing procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and supporting the implementation of our food safety plan. Your expertise in food safety and quality assurance will be essential to maintaining the highest standards for our products. You will also be responsible for identifying and addressing potential food safety risks and ensuring that our manufacturing processes adhere to best practices. This role will be reporting to the Food Safety and QA Supervisor.
Responsibilities:
Meeting all applicable food regulations and complying with the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) standards (i.e. FSSC 22000, BRC, SQF)Supporting the Food Safety Team in the implementation of an effective Food Safety plan focused on the elimination of biological, chemical, physical and economically motivated hazards from our foodsComprehend and support plant protocols and programs, as well as facility systems, including informational/operational/management systems such as Acadia, QMS, Fishbowl, TraceGains.Performing direct observations, monitoring and documentation of the Quality Management System (QMS) including procedures, records, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), and PQCMaintain the safety, legality and quality of each ingredient and the processes used to manufactureReduce customer/consumer complaints for foods manufactured on siteHolding product based on food safety or quality non-conformancesInitiating and driving root cause investigations for food safety & quality related deviations.Participating in sensory evaluation to identifying possible defectsResponsible for internal audits on a weekly basis on each area (pest control, operational methods, maintenance for food safety, sanitation, personnel practices, etc.)Collecting samples and analyzing at specified stages in the production process for evaluating compliance to specificationPerforming maintenance hygiene verification inspectionsResponsible for CIP verification, pre-operational inspections, collecting pre-op cleaning verification swabs and reporting any concerns or deviations to their supervisorWriting Food Safety daily summaries of the production shiftCollecting environmental monitoring pathogen control swabsOther duties may be assignedJob Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Food Science, or comparable program. (Or equivalent combination of education and experience)PCQI certification preferredHACCP (Hazard Analysis & Critical Control Points) preferredTraining in a Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) standard such as FSSC 22000, BRC or SQF preferredExcellent verbal and written communication skillsProficiency in MS Office and basic PC skillsGood writing, analytical, and critical thinking skillsDetail oriented, and possess strong decision-making abilityAbility to keep accurate recordsAble to work overtime when requiredJob Requirements:
