What you will be doing 

The Corporate Food Safety & Quality Assurance team has an opening for a FSQA Manager, located at the Albertsons Companies Technical Center and Culinary Kitchens in Dublin, California.  

 

Main responsibilities 

Key Responsibilities for the FSQA Manager will include, but are not limited to:  

Provide food safety and quality assurance support for OWN Brands private-label program, distribution center operations, and retail food establishments as directed   Serve as resource for identification and resolution of food safety concerns identified across the organization    Manage food safety product review processes for new products within OWN Brands portfolio and/or for in store new items    Participate in the development and implementation of food safety audits not limited to distribution center food safety systems, organic handler certification, and foreign supplier compliance with FSVP requirements    Review audit reports generated by third party service provider. Identify, review and resolve any auditing issues.   Participate and present information to standardize (peer review) third party auditors.     Manage food safety laboratory operations and technical library resources    Perform analytical and quality evaluations in a technical laboratory; collect data in a scientific manner utilizing appropriate statistical methodologies    Perform accurate measurements and calculations and interpret results.    Create and disseminate project summary reports and key findings to assist food safety compliance and quality improvement.   Develop executive summary reports with recommendations   Oversee and assist in the management of archive data, reports, documentation, journals in an organized manner   Provide advice and insight on regulatory compliance issues involving food safety and CGMP’s.   Assist in the development and administration of operational standards, program policies, actionable guidance and standard operating procedures (SOPs) relating to food safety and quality assurance throughout the company.    Develop and assist in the implementation of reporting metrics for food safety programs, cleaning & sanitation programs, and pest control activities   Serve as a technical resource for food safety concerns, and provide innovative and strategic ideas to support company growth   Other duties as assigned.    Travel up to 20%

The salary range is $92,000 to $119,720 annually. Starting salary will vary based on criteria such as location, experience, and qualifications. There may be flexibility for exceptional candidates. 

  

What we are searching for 

Qualifications for the FSQA Manager:   

4-year college degree required (Masters preferred) in food science, food technology, food engineering or allied degree.    Minimum 2 years, preferably 5 years in the food industry, with experience managing multiple projects to drive results and achieve business objectives.     Prior experience should include quality management and/or auditing for a CPG company; PCQI, CGMP and/or HACCP Certified training preferred    Knowledge of hazard analysis and risk assessment (chemical, physical and biological) and emerging food borne pathogens and awareness of potential risk management strategies is required.   Working knowledge of food processing, preservation, storage and distribution methods   Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong analytical and technical writing skills required.   Strong Microsoft Office skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Project.     Ability to motivate, lead and influence various levels of the organization.   Ability to assimilate new information quickly and react positively to new and challenging opportunities.   Demonstrated time management and prioritization skills required   Energetic, self-motivated and the ability to manage multiple projects and work with multifunctional teams.   Excellent organizational, planning and interpersonal skills; high level of trustworthiness and integrity.   Establish and maintain effective communication with internal and external customers and vendors.
