Salary: $45,000-$55,000 Bargaining Unit ( click here (https://www.greececsd.org/Page/531) for contracts): GUSS Report Times: 7:00am - 3:30pm Daily Hours: 8.5 (7.5 paid) Supervisor: Director of Food Service & Purchasing Civil Service Title: Principal Office Account Clerk Minimum Requirements: Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma, plus EITHER: (A) Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State college or university with a Bachelor’s or Associate's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or Finance plus two (2) years paid full-time or its part-time equivalent experience in bookkeeping, account keeping, or financial record keeping; OR, (B) Four (4) years paid full-time or its part-time equivalent experience as defined in (A) above; OR, (C) An equivalent combination of education and experience as defined by the limits of (A) and (B) above. Desired Qualifications: Good knowledge of the accounting functions of a school district; Strong computer background with advanced Excel skills(ability to create and manipulate pivot tables and use visual basics); Strong working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) procedures; Good oral and written communication skills; Ability to prepare concise oral and written reports; Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others; Must have good judgment and initiative; Strong analytical and organizational skills; Ability to work within a fast paced environment is essential; Good knowledge of the principles of budget preparation and financial reporting; Prefer experience with National School Lunch financial reporting; NutriKids and Wincap financial software knowledge; Daily attendance is expected. Position Summary/Responsibilities: Creates a detailed individual school profit & loss reports including all detailed revenue, product, payroll, direct expenses and government commodity usage on a monthly basis; Reconciles and enters all revenue sources including but not limited to federal and state reimbursements, commissions, contract feeding, vending and catering; Reviews all accounts payable for accuracy and entry. Ensures that all early payment terms are attained; Prepare budget versus actual variance report and generates adjusted year-end projections; Verifies all payroll salary and wages and fringe benefits; Maintains all government commodity food reconciliation and distribution; Ensure proper budget codes are used by the food service department; Initiate all department budget transfers; Educate food service department managers in proper financial reporting; Assists in organizing and directing assigned functions to achieve stated objectives; periodically assists in reviewing these functions in terms of their effectiveness, and makes recommendations as appropriate; Supervise budget office support staff; Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
