Food Operations Director Job Summary:
The Food Operations Director is responsible for all aspects of leading food operations including people, programs, and financials. This includes leadership of all aspects of the Taco program for Texas, which includes collaboration with National Global Team for product development, supply chain establishment, operational procedures, pricing, promotion, and marketing. This also includes local leadership of K Kitchen’s.
Expectations for Food Operations Director:
• Creates annual operations strategy. Collaborate with functional team members to establish challenging yet achievable annual budgets.
• Monitors a variety of financial, operational, and other information. Conducts root cause analysis. Interprets data to identify trends and potential problems, then uses this information to make decisions, solve problems, and achieve goals.
• Uses financial metrics including EBITDA, EBIT, and ROI to measure results and make decisions.
• Takes ownership for all people, operational, and financial metrics, resulting in profitable restaurants.
• Recruits, interviews, selects, hires, and completes onboarding for Food Service Managers, Food Category Manager, and Jr Food Category Managers.
• Trains and coaches team members to ensure they are confidently able to perform all job duties. Conducts quarterly talent assessments and succession plans.
• Conducts annual performance evaluations.
• Implements progressive discipline to address deficiencies in performance or failure to adhere to company policies or regulatory requirements.
• Conducts store visits regularly, with operational teams and the food team, to ensure the sites are operating at Brand and Company standards. Ensures adherence to government regulations, health and safety codes, and Company policies and procedures.
• Increase operational excellence across the districts and team members by maintaining, developing, or improving processes and procedures.
• Collaborate with key stakeholders (real estate, facilities, etc.) in sustaining and investing capital spending by working to evaluate future store acquisition opportunities. In addition, participate in the design of new stores or the remodel of existing stores.
• Implements and directs the development of guidelines for guest experience, food safety, product quality, freshness, and facility cleanliness. Ensures appropriate equipment maintenance and sanitation standards.
• Engages in personal development and inspires team to do the same.
• Develops annual performance and personal goals and actions to support Company vision and individual development. Completes annual KRA’s.

• Develop project plans to accomplish tasks assigned as part of such teams.
• Participates in special projects, assignments, and other job-related tasks as assigned.
