Food Service Manager - Catering Manager- FDIC
**Job Description** The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) is headquartered in Washington, DC. FDIC?s Virginia Square campus, including the L. William Seidman Center, is a multi-building complex in Arlington, Virginia. Amenities at the Virginia Square campus include a fitness center, cafeteria, two large auditoriums, and classrooms with state-of-the-art audio/visual resources utilized by FDIC employees and state banking agencies. The campus includes a 350-room extended-stay style residence center for students and instructors attending classes at the Virginia Square campus. Situated on 9.5 acres, the Virginia Square campus is a short drive from FDIC's headquarters in Washington, D.C. It is easily accessible by public transportation at the Virginia Square Metro stop on the Orange Line. Both FDIC locations host training, meetings, and corporate events. Aramark is currently seeking a Food Service - Catering Manager to join us at the FDIC's Virginia Square Cafe located in Arlington, VA. The Food Service Manager is a management position responsible for developing and implementing dining solutions to meet customer needs and tastes. This position oversees management, budget, and operation of "Catering Services" and food service kiosk outlet. It would maintain liaison with sales and conference planning departments to ensure maximum profitability and guest satisfaction. Use Aramark's coaching model to engage and develop team members to their fullest potential ? Reward and recognize employees ? Ensure individual and team performance meets objectives and client expectations ? Plan and lead daily team briefings ? Ensure safety and sanitation standards in all operations Client Relationship ? Identify client needs and communicate operational progress ? Maintains liaison with sales manager, conference planner, and clients in order to facilitate the proper handling of convention and banquet obligations. Financial Performance ? Cooperates with the management team in establishing and meeting unit financial and operating goals and forecasts. ? Responsible for the controlling of food, beverage, and labor costs for the catering operation and food service kiosk. ? Adopt all Aramark processes and systems, understand performance metrics, data, order, and inventory trends; educate teams on key levers to improve margins Productivity ? Bring value through efficient operations, appropriate cost controls, and profit management ? Follow the Operational Excellence fundamentals by meeting and maintaining food and labor initiatives ? Ensure the entire team is trained and able to implement ? Supervise team regarding production, quality, and control Compliance ? Maintain a safe and healthy environment for clients, customers and employees ? Follow all applicable policies, rules, and regulations, including but not limited to those relating to safety, health, wage, and hour Additional Responsibilities ? Lead the front of the house of the dining operation (Cafeteria/Kiosk) in conjunction with the Food Service Director ? Requires at least 1 year of experience in a management role ? Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred ? Strong interpersonal skills ? Ability to maintain effective client and customer rapport for mutually beneficial business relationships ? Ability to demonstrate excellent customer service using Aramark's standard service model ? Ability to maintain an effective working relationship with other departments to a unified food service experience for all customers ? Requires occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 50 lb. ? Must be able to stand for extended periods. *-*-Should endeavor to meet the client's conditions of employment process.
