Supervises departmental personnel and/or designated service area personnel. Works in staffing positions as needed. Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, standard practices and compliance with regulatory requirements. + Provides direct, continuous supervision of Food Service personnel. + Participates in selection of qualified candidates who fit the culture and demonstrate the potential to accomplish departmental objectives. + Ensures staff receive upon hire and throughout employment departmental orientation, on-the-job training, communication and support to accomplish departmental objectives and meet job requirements. + Provides regular and accurate performance feedback with focus on results, skill expansion, process improvement and learning. Contributes to annual performance evaluation of staff. + Participates in scheduling departmental staff and/or designated service area personnel. + Coordinates, assigns, instructs on and supervises the functions of the department including storage, service, food preparation and production, clean-up, and sanitation. + Assures compliance to policies and procedures and regulatory safe food handling requirements. Monitors production staff for compliance with established HACCP protocols. Ensures temperatures are being met during receiving, storage, production, service and cooling. + Works with food production personnel to achieve high quality meals and cost effective practice. Ensures standardized recipes and portions sizes are being followed and foods are prepared preserving color, flavor and nutritive value. Regularly inspects and tastes food to ensure adherence to recipe, appearance, quality and temperature. + Monitors and reinforces staff compliance to safety rules and precautions. + Participates in inventory and purchasing as directed. Demonstrates a cost-conscious attitude in procurement and daily operation of the department. + Monitors temperature, sanitation and cleaning logs for temperature range compliance and completion. + Keeps accurate and appropriate records and prepares reports as directed. + Assists in the departmental and hospital Performance Improvement Program, including but not limited to, data collection and analysis. + Directs and assists with the care, maintenance and repair of equipment. Recommends equipment needs and projects life of equipment. **Qualifications** **Minimum requirements:** + High School Diploma or equivalent required + Completion of a state or local approved food safety/sanitation course required + Thorough knowledge of food products, service, operations, staffing, food handling and storage and regulatory requirements required **Preferred qualifications:** + One or more years experience supervising food service personnel preferred + Knowledge of therapeutic diets preferred + Proficiency in computer skills preferred **Additional Data** **APPLY TODAY!** Select Medical is an organization that is passionate about safety for our patients and our team members.
