Pleasant, IA. In this role, you will play a crucial part in food preparation and ensuring exceptional culinary experiences for our customers. The Weekend Cook position offers an opportunity to contribute to a positive work environment and uphold high standards of food safety and customer service. **Essential Responsibilities:** + Cook and prepare a variety of foods following established production guidelines and recipes. + Set up workstations with necessary ingredients and cooking equipment. + Prepare ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, trimming, and peeling food items. + Safely use a range of utensils and kitchen equipment, including knives, ovens, stoves, and mixers. + Utilize various cooking methods such as baking, roasting, broiling, and steaming for meats, vegetables, and other dishes. + Arrange, garnish, and portion food according to presentation guidelines. + Ensure adherence to food safety policies and procedures, including proper food handling, sanitation, and storage. + Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, and utensils to maintain cleanliness standards. + Uphold excellent customer service and interact positively with guests, customers, and coworkers. + Follow safety policies, including the secure handling of company assets. **Qualifications:** + Previous experience as a cook or in a related role is required. + Knowledge of basic principles of food preparation, cooking methods, and food safety regulations. + Ability to obtain food safety certification as required. + Basic math skills and ability to perform simple calculations. + Strong interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written. + Physical ability to meet the demands of the job, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods. + Willingness to wear uniforms and/or Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as necessary. **Note:** This role may involve occasional changes in duties and responsibilities based on business needs.
